Though 2/3 of the staff are responsible, the 1/3 that stays up all night partying and noise making until 5 A.M. with his friends from the street left me with a poor impression. Some guests were unable to enter or leave the hostel as he had fallen into a drunken sleep in the reception area and it was 8 A.M. That was a sad sight. Personally I could not sleep at all that night because of the alcohol and noise. The more reliable staff covered for him the best they could but there is no excuse.

Staff are fantastic! Friendly, chilled and always ready for a drink. Had a fantastic week in Gdansk due to choosing this hostel. I'll return. Great location 15sec walk from street with all the action. Choose the big dorm room to get the great river views.

Pros: The location of this hostel is very good and it has a lovely view of the river from the 10-bed room. 1 private bathroom/shower. Some staff members are really pleasant & genuinely nice & helpful. Cons: It's strange taking a shower with someone using the toilet in the same "air space." Some lockers are broken & the door is rarely locked - security issue? Some of the staff seem really unprofessional & more concerned with socializing than doing their jobs. Has a lot of potential.

Riverside hostel is definitely a place to feel at home on your journey. It's no surprise that they have even got awards for great staff. They are not annoyingly friendly, just nice and authentic dudes who like to hang out with travelers and help wherever they can. This creates an atmosphere that makes you like to sit in the common room, have a chat with anybody who's there and maybe start activities together. Whenever I come to Gdansk, Riverside hostel will be the place where I want to stay.

The hostel itself is quite nice & is a good location. I was quite dissapointed with a number of staff members who I found to be rude & unhelpful on a number of occassions.

Pros: Very good location, easy to find from main train station, and central location within the Old Town area. Facilities were also pretty good, and the provided breakfast was better than most Hostel's provide. Cons: Lockers were broken in main dorm. The door to the main dorm was never locked, anybody could walk in to the hostel off the street and into the dorm room without much hindrance. Some staff were very helpful but others very disinterested. No atmosphere.

Me and my girlfriend left your hostel and Gdansk wıth very happy memories and the intention to come back one day :) a shoutout to Darek, he's one of the coolest hostel personel worldwıde! ;)

Staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. Always willing to chat and answer any questions you may have. Absolutely can't beat the location. I would recommend this place to anybody:)

The rooms are beautiful and very functional with a "luggage storage" under the bed. The location is very good but a bit far of the train station. The showers are a bit dirty and there is not luggage storage when you arrive before the check in (but there is always a way to keep them behind the counter). The staff is very nice, we actually share a beer with the guy who was there at night and overall the hostel is really nice.

Very nice stay. Everything was clean and people were very nice. Breakfast could have been better.

This is a great hostel with very helpful staff and superb location!

The location is really great and from my dorm I had a nice view to the river. The stuff is very friendly and helpful. Clean, good atmosphere - I can absolutely recommend this hostel.

Nice hostel right off old square, but somehow avoids much of the noise from it. The only thing lacking is more toilets in the morning rush, but it's not the worst by any means. The guys working the desk ask what kind of things you like to see or do then go through a map and point out those specific things, and some other things that may interest you. Very helpful staff.

really nice staff !!

It was a good choice!!!
