Upstairs shower room was always having water standing on the floor. Some kids living at the hostel spend their time in the kitchen. The kitchen has no forks or spoons. A Middle-Eastern guy was chasing a black fellow with a 2x4 in the hostel's court yard entry way. Later the black fellow was hanging out at the court yard's entry with a hand axe while talking on a cell phone. Interesting place.
Some showers need to be fixed, apart from that everything was ok.
It was ok, the location is actually perfect, right near a lot of minimarts and cheap restaurants and the subway station. Its not the nicest of places but its the most hostel place Ive ever been to,
I thought this hostel was great, just a little more than I hoped to spend (14€ per night + 3€ for sheets). It was right next to a metro stop which made traveling easy. There was no common room to meet people though, but for a bed and a good shower it worked perfect!
its very close to the metro station but still hv to change metro several times to get there from the main tourist attractions. the hostel is the dirtiest i hv ever seen, cupboards in rooms n kitchenware all fill with dust, toilets almost all broken with almost no hot water at night!!!!!!!many toilet doors cant lock n they are dirty!!! i dun think they hv staff to clean it. u hv to pay for the bedlinen, judge by its clealiness n location its definitely not worth the money!!terrible hostel!
Entrance of the building smelled like pee 24/7, being full of baby strollers the whole time. No lights in the staircase, which without a cell phone it's impossible to go up at night. Poor bathroom and shower installations, having illumination in the restroom only by a lamp. The only good is the location, but even with that upside I would not stay there the next time I'm in Berlin.

The atmosphere and cleanliness at this hostel left a lot to be desired. The staff wasn't that friendly nor helpful.
Very old building, not in the best area, easily accessible to means of transport though
I cannot recommend the Rixpack Hostel. There were large splashes of in the gate. The next day, someone had tried to cover it, but it wasn´t cleaned up. One room had a carpet of which 1/4 was soaked in water. It smelled VERY mouldy, and we had to buy an air-fresher, and keep the windows open 24 hours a day. 3 days before arrival, we were told, that some students had to stay in a room called "The Creepy Room". It was completely thrashed, and 100 % unsuitable for habitation!!!
