Dormitory manager Ken was helpful. Only problem we found there was no enough heating available in room. it was freezing cold in night.

Great location for climbers (everyone else staying there was a climber), but also good for some hiking! Rooms are basic but the beds are comfortable. They're pretty cold (need a good sleeping bag in winter!), but in the common room there's a nice fire, and the air heating's pretty good when it's on too (can even use it as a hair drier!). The kitchen's pretty good - even a dishwasher! Check the hot water's on before jumping in the shower. No lockers, but climbers seem a trustworthy bunch. :-)

It's very cold in the evening but Ken is still working on the accomodations and the insulation and i'm pretty sure it will be the place to stay by summertime ! There is everything you need, big kitchen, a fire, a tv, comfortable bunkbeds (bring your sleeping bag!) and a pub at the top of the street ! I'd be glad to come back some day ! Furthermore, 10 pounds a night is more than cheap !!

Cheap and cheerful place to stay for visits to the Peak District especially the Roaches. Only bad thing is the coin-slot showers.
