I love this hostel - a great place for solo travellers. Aside from the picturesque yard with grapevines & hammocks, what i liked most was that it is less accommodation and more like you are a guest in their home. Makes for a happy, inclusive and relaxed atmosphere. Melanie and Fernando are beautiful people (and Omara!) very warm & welcoming & make an effort to ensure your stay is comfortable. They will set aside time to give you a hand with anything you need. Sunday family asados were awesome.

Nice simple hostel. Owners are super friendly, surprised us by picking us up from the bus station without notice, and explained everything about the bodega's and other activities around Cafayate. Good kitchen, wifi, etc. Spanish, French and English spoken. We were there during a cold winter period, must be even better in summer!
Certainly it's rustic but it's easy to kick back here. There's nothing luxury but the price is reasonable and it is very functional. They provide Wi-Fi and a "help yourself" breakfast, coffee/tea, bread, butter, jam. Fernando and Melanie will make you feel welcome and will provide pointers on good places for wine tasting and other activities. We had a double room with private bathroom. I would suggest that they install a longer shower curtain. The whole bathroom gets wet when you shower.
Great place to stay! Very relaxed and a nice environment. The owners are lovely and helped us to get a tour to the Quebrada organised really quickly (we were on the tour 40 mins later) and made sure we had what we needed. Our room was basic but nice and clean. The breakfast was very basic but the price is so low at this hostel you get what you pay for. We loved the place and it made staying in Cafayate a better experience.
I really liked the staff of road runner hostel. I think it's the perfect hostel if your travelling in a group, because the have a big garden with many seats outside. The inside common room is not very comfortable, but ok. There are no lockers, but probably Cafayate is very secure, I haven't heard of anyone whos things have been stolen.
One of those hostels that makes you feel like home right of the bat. The owners are very helpful and caring, making sure everyone is taken care of. The location is perfect, just couple of hundred meters from the central city square, but far enough from the bars and evening activities that you can expect a good nights sleep. They also have a campground in the back which is nice. The atmosphere is great and the back gard is a nice place to chill with hammocks and art on the walls.
This hostel was exactly what I love, a "non-lonely-planet" haven, with courtyard shaded by living grape vines. The couple who run the place - Melanie is a caring transplant from France who said to me "I want travelers to feel like guests in my home rather than renters at my hostel" and her partner Fernando, a taciturn artist who can fix anything that moves - create an atmosphere which is comfortable and communal. Spanish is spoken as often as English and I'll certainly be returning someday!
