Only one night so I didnt get to interact much with staff/other guests but overall people seemed friendly and helpful. Great location, low price and good facilities - you can't go wrong for a sleepover

Pros. * Very friendly and helpful staff. * Value for money. * I just stayed for a night so didn't use all the facilities but there is enough space in common areas to make the stay comfortable. * Location is near Citi Center Cons. * I just have one complaint i.e. there is no facility for people who are not carrying their Laptop as they charge GBP 3 per hour for surfing internet.

Showers we used (the booths with shower and toilet) were amazing, beds were comfortable, kitchen facilities were good. Staff were at times distant though, but helped when asked. Only two power points in the whole room which was very annoying. Close enough to the city centre, only 5 mins walk. All in all, good hostel.

This hostel was a dump. It was strange and hard to find. Had to wait ages for a staff member to check me in, he then lead me far away to my room (12 bed dorm) which STUNK of pee. The toilets were disguisting. They smelt so bad. I never had a shower as I didn't want to get sick. There was a group of young school children who stayed in the room nex to mine. They were very loud and staff did nothing. WORST sleep. Staff member in room SNORED like mad all night. Horrible place. STAY AWAY!!!

The hostel is well equipped. It has many bathrooms, large common area with tabletennis, kitchen, everything that a traveller needs. However I was pretty upset about the 10 pound deposit which you have to give for every key, because if my plane leaves at 6 in the morning, I can't really do anything with 20 pounds which is quite a lot of money. They ask big deposits for everything else, so if you ask for a few extra things, you will have a pretty large deposit. In our room it was really cold also.

Victoria on reception was lovely and very helpful. The showers/toilets were very good - although the only drawback is that you repeatedly had to press the button for water. The bed room was very comfortable. There are currently no lockers, but I was told some had been ordered. No charge for paying on card=good. Free WiFi

Nice hostel, excellent and friendly staff, but it is very loud on weekends with music (they do warn about this and give you free earplugs so I was OK). Good location. Amended our booking with no fuss and no extra charges (three days before). Two major problems were the stag parties-you could hear every word they said through the wall and for some reason they work up at 7am; I also didn't really feel like there were enough bathrooms. You could queue for quite a while for one of the showers.

Everything was really cool but there was a quite annoying thing: our bedroom, on the first floor, was just above a disco (The Lanes) and when we came back to have some sleep at 1am we could hear the music coming from below as if we were just in the pub. Plus, the floor and beds were literally trembling. We could not get any sleep until the music stopped (around 3am). It really pissed us off. At least, the next day we asked for a refund and they gave us the 30% back, which was really nice.

Really good spot in town. The bowling can be quite loud til late, earplugs are provided for free but I found that in the rooms it wasn't too much of a problem. Club nights are wicked, had the most fun we'd had in ages, entry for those staying at the hostel was free and best of all we didn't have to walk home! The staff are helpful, and the kitchen was fully equipped.

There is free wi-fi but you have to pay to use computers if you dont have your own and its a pound for 20mins. There are lockers, but none in the dorms, which isnt convenient. There isnt much space in the dorms as theyre trying to cram as many people in as possible There is a nice large kitchen, and also a large common room with a TV and table tennis table.

It was very nice even for 2 nights, we had trouble finding the hostel but once we were there it was really easy to go where we wanted.

I have booked Rock and Bowl hostel for 3 nights and I slept only the last night when I bought ear plugs. The most noisy and strange hostel I have ever been!!! Downstairs is disco bar and our neightbours were shouting all the night, they were drunk, they sang songs all night and were talking about criminal things. The staff came just once to tell them to be silent. And the windows and doors were sooo bad! You felt like you are outside or in neighbour room, they didn´t izolate! The rooms :-((

The hostel is placed in a nice part of the city. But there are several things I didn't enjoy. The rooms are very cramped and there isn't enough space for all the luggages. Due to the bad isulation and the loud music of the bar on ground floor it was very very loud! The music was still playing at 3 a.m.! This can be annoying for families with children or people who like to get up early in the morning. Compared to other hostels in GB it offers no breakfast and is therefore too expensive.
