Everything was great overall, except that our room was across from the kitchen and it was SO loud til quite late. Having common areas that are ok to be loud can be tough but the most echoing place in the building isn't the best option.

There are only two things need to be improve: 1 the pillows are terrible was difficult to sleep wit the pillows. The upper beds makes a lot of noise something is loose and you move little bit and makes a lot of noise please fix it.

Enjoyed our stay at Rock Solid. Great hostel with free pool, table tennis and 2gb of wifi. Good sized kitchen and nice rooms with comfy beds. Clean hostel with nice showers, and films for free rental. ONLY downfall was that the 2gb of Internet wasn't enough to stream films (used 7gb watching one film) and "Zappie", their internet provider, is extortionate meaning once you run out of your free wifi you will have to find something else to do (2gb $30!!!!!!) would be ok but not a lot to do at night

Loved staying here - our first experience with staying in a hostel and it was good! Kitchen clean, dorms clean and the facilities were great! All sat around in beanbags watching DVDs made it feel like a home from home!

Great value for money. Nice hostel in a convenient location. Free pool billiard, table tennis and movies was great. Cleanliness of the toilets was average. Also, there should be more power plugs in the rooms.

This is a very nice hostel with a great common area, the kitchen is good and the showers/bathrooms are excellent

Great place and good vibes

Rock climbing wall with friendly coaches and legit gears, pool table, table tennis table, video games & movie set and night lodge where people hang out in late night. huge kitchen and clean bathroom. BEST HOSTEL EVER.

Great atmosphere, amazing staff. All common areas were clean and spacious. Very comfortable bedrooms, with a handy locker for each guest. I was on one of the "loud" rooms (great discount for it), but compared to other hostels I've been to, it wasn't that loud.

If you are travelling to Rotorua this is a no brainer, I met more than one group that had changed hostels to come here.

wonderful! staff absolutely lovely and super helpful. lots of space to hang out, big kitchen and dining area, and free wifi.

If you are stopping in Rotorua, stop here. It is a well thought out place with good staff in a good location.

The hostel's staff were very friend and accommodating. The hosel itself was very clean and homey. The rock climbing wall downstairs was also an added bonus!

Great place to stay. Staff really helpful and friendly! Facilities are very good!

Ended up extending my trip by 3 nights which says it all! Great central location which offered fantastic value for money and a very sociable place to stay. The staff were extremely helpful with planning my activities, especially Sione.

Best hostel in NZ. Staff was very helpful, super clean and organized. Good common area to meet other travelers plus there's a rock climbing wall.

A great place to stay in the centre of staff. All the staff are very friendly and knowledgable about things to do in Rotorua. Facilities are great.

Not clean. Bathroom facilities questionable, and the whole building smells slightly unpleasant. Very big so lots of interesting people staying there, and well equipped kitchen facilities and common room. Primary redeeming feature is a respectable climbing wall integrated into the building, cheap rates. Lots of different graded roped climbs although bouldering area average at best. Great if you enjoy indoor climbing, but otherwise underwhelming.

Really good hostel, with great facilities, clean and in the centre of town

I really enjoyed my stay at Rock Solid. They have a friendly and helpful staff, with a great communal lounge and a massive communal kitchen with everything you need to cook and store your stuff for a longer stay. The toilets and stuff are cleaned every morning, and there's a laundry facility on site as well. All in all, one of the best Hostels i've been to!
