I have nothing but good thing to say about my stay at the Rocky Mountain Hotel. I arrived from Amman a bit sick with a cold and this appeared the perfect place to slow down and recover. Beautiful views over the Wadi Musa valley, a cosy roof top lounge with all the coffee and tea you please, a friendly playful cat, lovely Bedouin food buffets at night, a free shuttle service to the park entrance, a kiwi hotel owner with a sense of humor, all made this an outstanding hostel experience in Jordan.

Location is above the town, a 25 minute walk from the Petra gate, but this gives the place amazing views of Petra. The hotel provides shuttles to (at 7:30 and 8:30) and from (at 5:00 and 6:00) the gates, and you can take a cab if you miss them for 3JD (though you will haggle). The dinners were very tasty, and worth the 8JD imho.

Jane and her staff are wonderful. They were very helpful and informative as to what prices should be as the locals will try to charge you way more. The dinner served there was very delicious and affordable. The complimentary breakfast was delicious as well and the atmosphere in the dinning room is lovely. Would recommend staying here.

Lovely and very informative owner who picked us up at 6pm from the gates of Petra and gave us some recommendations for Wadi Rum. Great view of Petra town from the balcony.
