This was the best hostel experience I have had in a long time. Upon entry the staff and other travellers were extremely welcoming. Mario and Pedro, two staff members, were exceptional hosts, and even cooked an amazing paella for everyone. It genuinely felt like a house rather than a hostel. Great location and you could access cheaper surf lessons and do a free 2.5 hour walk to Pasajes through the hostel too.
Fantastic staff, location, pixtos & paella nights.
Pro: Great location, even better staff, free breakfast, you have to try mario's paella and sangría! Great atmosphere Cons: sheets smelled bad. Very few showersand no place to hang your things when you're showering
I think the atmosphere was great. This is the place if you want to know what's happening in the city and maybe find friends with whom to go out.
You really could tell the hostel were taking advantage of there being few hostels in the city to charge prices that were really too high for such accomodation. That said, you couldn't complain about the standard of the place.
This is a great hostel with the best staff ever! Very fun and laid back atmosphere, super clean and perfectly located in an area with plenty of great pintxos and super close to the beach.
The hostel is very well located, next to the beach, to several bars and nice places that you can enjoy the tapas. The staff was really attentive, with many recommendations of cool places to visit and helping me and my friends with every question we had. It was a short but a nice stay! Gracias!
Totally awesome place to stay! The staff was extremely nice, helpful and most of all friendly! Missed the place as soon as I left. Mario was a great host and he makes the best sangria and Spanish dishes! Plus, San Sebastian was just plain awesome! Also made a lot of new great friends which we traveled together afterwards, very cool experience.
Cool place to hang, but noisy and social, so great place if u are on a gap year or holiday and want to party, but if travelling for work, maybe not the best place. The people are super great, solo welcoming, and really friendly, so deaf worth a stay if u are in the area.
Great hostel and great staff. Very small but ends up being very cozy
A nice place in a good location. The staff is very friendly and they will help you and give you reccommendations.
This was one of the most amazing hostels I've ever been to. It is not big, but the atmosphere is incredible. The staff is the best, they are all very chill, they organized a night of paella de Roger's House and delicious sangria, we went out to different pinchos bars, they help you whenever you need just to make you feel comfortable. They also offer surf lessons at a reasonable price, which was an incredible experience. The place just grows on you, as does San Sebastian. Definitely going back!
The thing about this hostel that really makes it better than the 50 hostels I've stayed in is the staff. They are just good people, and thats the kind of place you want when you're traveling abroad. They helped us out with a number of things and were always friendly, and to me that makes the difference. You should stay here if you want to support honestly good people and have an awesome time in San Sebastian.
Located in the heart of San Sebastian, Roger's House is a really nice, small hostel with a very friendly staff. They give you a city map and can show you some insider tips where to eat and drink. Kitchen and bathrooms are very clean. Familiar atmosphere is nice! Room is a bit small but as long as you only slee there it is ok. There is no living room! But you can hang out in the (small) kitchen.
