good stuff, good place

Hostel had a good atmosphere. The lounge area is large and the gathering point for the hostel which made it easy to meet everyone and plan the days/nights. Included breakfast was basic and bathrooms are average. Location is a fair walk in but there's a bus stop right near by - still walkable but I wouldn't call it central. Small shop close-by is a plus. Overall I enjoyed my stay.

Sylvıaç the staff ıs oozıng wıth vıvacıty and sometımes her abılıty to talk fast would come out as ıf I dıdnit understand anythıng what she saıd on the poınters and tıps on navıgatıng the cıty. Breakfast ıs really basıc - only tea ıs served. no coffee. There,s also a basıc kıtchen to do your cookıng.

Nice place , staff put in lots of energy! Bed was comfortable and the place was warm

We had a wonderful time in Brasov and a huge part of that was because of the wonderful help and service that the two sisters Sylvie and Deanna gave us. No matter what we needed they organised it for us - always with a smile and good humour. We are so grateful to these two lovely girls. Also we must mention Greg who drove us to many lovely places and was always generous and helpful. Thank you so much to those 3 special people. Nancy and Russell Langton

Rolling Stone hostel is in a lovely part of Basov. Located a little outside the old town (just a few minutes walk) and next to a little square with supermarkets, ATMs and bus stop to/from the train station. I stayed in a twin room which was clean and newly decorated, and away from the common and kitchen areas. The whole place was really clean and the women who run the hostel are full of energy and always around to answer questions, organise day trips etc.

Great location, very clean. Make sure you see the room before paying as they are all very different. The room we booked was busy so they put us in the basement where it was so humid our clothes became wet in our bags (but it was a much nicer room than the closet they offered us first). Laundry was a joke as there is no dryer, had to use a hairdryer before packing. The "guided tours" they offer are just them hiring a taxi for you. Once you get to the destination, you're on your own. Decent place.

No security whatsoever. "Lost" guests knocking on my door in early hours. Bed and bedding should be in a museum or tip. No light by bed. Staff rushed through inbrief as had to "deal with" an earlier personal event. She was very friendly though. Could have had a decent room in a hotel for same price (stayed in the £30 private room). Breakfast was remains of a tatty loaf, no butter and dregs at bottom of jam jar. Will not return and will advise colleagues not to stay there.

The hostel is well located and easy to find, rooms are very big, like the bathrooms (that are, unfortunately, few), but they are too crowded, and passing in someone's else room to reach yours is not very cushy. Anyway I found the hostel clean and the staff very helpful and always at your disposal. They also offer breakfast (a poor one though!) and a pc for guests, that's good! Everything considered I recommend the Rolling Stone Hostel!

We booked a private room, and were told that they didnt have one available at the moment in the hostel, but they had one close to the train station. We accepted (it was even more convenient for us) and were driven there. The apartment turned out to be a bit dirty (stained and dusty sheets). The next day we had agreed for the keys to be picked up at a certain time. The man who came to pick them up showed up 20mins earlier and was very impatient that we weren't fully packed yet.

Nice hostel, easy to get to from train station, there is a bus stop right near the hostel. Diana was super friendly, cheerful and helpful with things to see and do in and around Brasov. My only problem though is that they offer a driver to drive you on day trips, which was a bit expensive, and they kind of push you into doing it this way rather than by yourself. The driver, Greg, was nice, but always hurrying us along. Only 2 bathrooms for the whole hostel meant that there were usually queues.
