We had a wonderful time in Brasov and a huge part of that was because of the wonderful help and service that the two sisters Sylvie and Deanna gave us. No matter what we needed they organised it for us - always with a smile and good humour. We are so grateful to these two lovely girls. Also we must mention Greg who drove us to many lovely places and was always generous and helpful. Thank you so much to those 3 special people. Nancy and Russell Langton

Rolling Stone hostel is in a lovely part of Basov. Located a little outside the old town (just a few minutes walk) and next to a little square with supermarkets, ATMs and bus stop to/from the train station. I stayed in a twin room which was clean and newly decorated, and away from the common and kitchen areas. The whole place was really clean and the women who run the hostel are full of energy and always around to answer questions, organise day trips etc.

Great location, very clean. Make sure you see the room before paying as they are all very different. The room we booked was busy so they put us in the basement where it was so humid our clothes became wet in our bags (but it was a much nicer room than the closet they offered us first). Laundry was a joke as there is no dryer, had to use a hairdryer before packing. The "guided tours" they offer are just them hiring a taxi for you. Once you get to the destination, you're on your own. Decent place.

No security whatsoever. "Lost" guests knocking on my door in early hours. Bed and bedding should be in a museum or tip. No light by bed. Staff rushed through inbrief as had to "deal with" an earlier personal event. She was very friendly though. Could have had a decent room in a hotel for same price (stayed in the £30 private room). Breakfast was remains of a tatty loaf, no butter and dregs at bottom of jam jar. Will not return and will advise colleagues not to stay there.

The hostel is well located and easy to find, rooms are very big, like the bathrooms (that are, unfortunately, few), but they are too crowded, and passing in someone's else room to reach yours is not very cushy. Anyway I found the hostel clean and the staff very helpful and always at your disposal. They also offer breakfast (a poor one though!) and a pc for guests, that's good! Everything considered I recommend the Rolling Stone Hostel!

We booked a private room, and were told that they didnt have one available at the moment in the hostel, but they had one close to the train station. We accepted (it was even more convenient for us) and were driven there. The apartment turned out to be a bit dirty (stained and dusty sheets). The next day we had agreed for the keys to be picked up at a certain time. The man who came to pick them up showed up 20mins earlier and was very impatient that we weren't fully packed yet.

Nice hostel, easy to get to from train station, there is a bus stop right near the hostel. Diana was super friendly, cheerful and helpful with things to see and do in and around Brasov. My only problem though is that they offer a driver to drive you on day trips, which was a bit expensive, and they kind of push you into doing it this way rather than by yourself. The driver, Greg, was nice, but always hurrying us along. Only 2 bathrooms for the whole hostel meant that there were usually queues.

Great hostel. My second time staying here. Staff as energetic and helpful as ever. Full marks to them!

Great place to stay! Tidy and clean, and located only 10 minutes from the city centre (by foot), with a bunch of nice, small grocery shops and bars nearby. The staff is excellent, really nice and eager to help you get the most out of your stay.

A lot of guests, should be more bathrooms.

The staff was very welcoming, informative, and helpful. There may be a few shortcomings (ten minute walk from city centre, too few bathrooms) but the atmosphere, staff, and hospitality make up for all of that. Worth the time and money.

I cannot recommend this hostel enough for the friendliness of the staff and the fantastic atmosphere. It's quite far from the train station and a 15 minute walk from the town but it's totally worth it. The facilities are clean, comfortable and there's lots of information on activities in the local area.

I enjoyed staying at Rolling Stone Hostel. It's a family owned hostel so yes, it's kind of like you're staying at someone's house. Sylvia is really friendly and helful at the same time, so there were no problem staying there.

The staff, Diana, was very helpful and explained everything around Brasov to see in a nice way. Apart from that nothing much goes in the favor of the hostel. We booked 2 beds in a 6 bed dorm but were shoved in a 12 bed dorm. Only two WC for all the guests, had to wait in queue, not clean, lacked toilet papers. I guess the staff tried to scare us with stories of taxi drivers conning people while travelling to nearby places so that we use the hostel travel facilities.

Lovely girls running the place! Very personable , dynamic and fun-loving! I'd go back in a heartbeat!

Be careful with the payment! You must pay in local currency and there is some difference in the total when the staff converts the value from euro to Lei. Probably you will pay one or two euros more than planned according the site.

Staff really good, not enough bathrooms, breakfast of just bread is not great. Rooms overall good.

Where to start? :) You can't help but mention what positive and enthusiastic bundles of energy the staff are here :) Really great :) Also want to send a bit shout out to the driver who brought us to Tepes and Bran, great guy :) Could have easily stay a bit longer here. The place may seem like it is well outside the centre but it isn't. It's a great location. Great place
