The hostel was really near the center of Kilkenny. We were alone in the house and at the night we have no noise to disturb us. The hostel is on some renovation but it was clean and have all the facilities. The owner was really great but if your bus is late and you're not on time on your check in, you have to find a phone to call her beacause she's not is the house! Indeed, it's was a really nice looking and cheap hostel.

Great shower and great kitchen facilities. A lot closer to the centre than I had thought! The owner is lovely and doesn\'t pressure you out early the next morning like other hostels.

It feels like home which is good. Unfortunately there was a group of boys got drunk at night, got noisy and kept knocking on doors. Overall pretty good for the price, especially we can use the kitchen.

The hostel was quite good, the room was big enough and the kitchen was excellent! I loved the small sitting room with very comfortable couches and a fireplace, which made it very cosy. The only problem was that there was not any place no leave the luggage while visiting the city. The location was not too bad, just 10 minutes or less by foot from all the pubs in Kilkenny.

I recently stayed at Rose Cottage and I was shocked by some high rated reviews. This is why I booked with Rose Cottage, and for the cheap price. When I met Mary, the owner she was very nice and showed us to our room. However, no management is on site. if you need to get a hold of anyone there are phone numbers listed on the door, however for ourselves we don\'t travel overseas with a cell phone due to high calling rates. So we were out of luck if we needed anything at a particular time. Also, by not having

hi Heather,I am disappointed that you would not stay at Rose Cottage again.Frances who helps out at the cottage said that you were quite happy the last 2 days and that you had plenty of hot water.I am sorry about the two Irish ladies.I met them and had a cup of coffee with them, that was early in the evening.I am not responsible for what my guests do afterwards.I have two numbers left at the house.A night watch man lives two doors down. You did not ring his number or mine.He would have been down in two seconds at any hint of trouble.I do my best for my guests and I am genuinely sorry that these ladies upset you.I really can't tell people what to drink.I honestly did not expect any trouble from them. The house is cleaned thoroughly after every guest.Clean linen towels are in plentiful supply. All my ratings are genuine,so I am surprised that you find fault with them.Kind regards Mary

Terrible place, which is shame because the owner was really nice. We had a room in the attic, very small and there were spider webs everywhere. The hot water constantly ran out. Was no maps of Kilkenny and not much help from the staff. We had two middle aged irish women screaming and crying in the room across from us as they were blind drunk. They kept the whole place awake til 5am. As there was no staff onsite there was no one to tell them to be quiet. STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE.

hi Mark,I just want to explain that the reason I left a number on the premises is because I have a night watchman two doors down. This person is available at all times.I am really sorry about the two Irish ladies. You should have rang my number or the night watchman's number, and we would have looked after you. kind regards Mary
