Weird place. Still good if you are running on a low budget. The hostel is located Over à restaurant. The staff is alright, the showers and bathroom are kind of dirty, the beds are fine Youre in saigon so its noisy. An alright place if you're backpacking the cheap way but don't expect anything more

The receptionist was so gentle and kind. Super helpful and cheerful. Friendly and pleasant person to encounter after your long day of roaming around the city. The bunk is too high without bars on the sides so if you can sleep still, best ask for lower bunk cos if you fall, your head might crack. The restaurant below though, they keep on producing weird aroma that lingers to 3 floor above. Toilet is okay. Better than the other hostel I stayed which charged the same amount with no AC.

Good points: Central location. Good wifi. double bunks. Lockers. Good pillow & comfortable beds. Offer tours. discount on restaurant downstairs Downsides: Bathrooms need improvement; toilets locks were loose &bins over flowing by end of the day. Have house rules but don't enforce them - someone was smoking something illicit in our room. They hold passports, fine but ours were left on the desk in an open reception for well over an hour even when they weren't sat there &I mentioned twice.

Great hostel, staff were very friendly and location was good. There are a lot of stairs and nice restaurant downstairs with a 20% off voucher from the hostel reception. I had my own room when I booked a dorm (maybe an overbooking) but it worked out great and it had air con.

I had an amazing stay back then. A little tiring to go upstairs to 3rd floor but i took it as leg work out.

The staff are very friendly and helpful, the beds and pillows are large and comfy and there are individual lockers in the room. They double booked my friend the first night she arrived so we had to share a bed, they were very apologetic. There is no real common room so it can be quite hard to meet people unless you you have a good bunch in your room. Its not right on the backpacker street so its nice and quiet at night but only a 5 min walk away from the party area.

Had a good stay, everything was ok but not more than that, but what can you expect for this price? if you really want to meet a lot of people and to go out for a party or something than your at the wrong address, but if your not looking for that you can definitely stay hear for a couple of nights..

The was no fresh air in the room. And some power station did not worked. But i was impressed with the response from the receptionist. She was so helpful.

The staff at Rou are bloody wonderful and go above and beyond what you would expect. A friend of mine had her bag stolen and they were so helpful in reaching the police and various embassies including driving her to them to help translate! The rooms are big, airy and clean. Double bunk beds and A/C which was wonderful in a very hot Saigon. The only downside would be no communal area and the toilets could be checked more frequently but other than a perfect spot for a couple of nights!

The bathroom is honestly not that bad it's just a floor down from my room and the staff was helpful with anything I wanted to do in HCMC

Nice hostel located above a restaurant, you need to go up a couple of flights of stairs to get to reception, but if you are an active person this should be no problem. The receptionist was lovely, very friendly. The room was nicely air conditioned and had decent wifi, lockable storage was available under the bottom bunks. The roof top terrace was small but amazing, I spent a nice evening sitting up there, and the wifi was good so I could Skype my family in peace.

Dirty rooms, noisy place. It is situated inside of a restaurant but you have to enter in the kitchen to go up to the rooms. Worst hostel that I've been.

Excellent value for money. Comfortable bed with sockets at the head of each

Stayed for one night only and it was fine. Wouldn't like to stay for a few days as there's no real lounge area and the bathrooms aren't great. But nice big, comfortable beds.

The Rou Hostel is a great place to stay in HCMC. The rooms are nice, the beds are very comfortable and the lockers are big enough to fit all of your stuff. It is located in the city center but not directly in the backpacker area. The staff speaks very good English and tries to help you as much as possible. The rooftop is amazing! The bathroom could have been cleaner. All in all I can really recommend this hostel, it is cheap, easy to connect to other travelers and the atmosphear is amazing :)

Ok hostel on average

First of all sorry to the staff for late review. I had a great night stay in Hostel Rou. Also met some really Backpackers from Japan, Korea & America. The Staff is great !!! :) Beds are very clean & comfortable. Plus...its right in the city center..close to everything. Moreover, they have a really cute Vegetarian restaurant on the ground floor. If you are looking for a cheap & decent accomodation in the city center..I would recommend it highly. :)

We had a good stay here. It was a little confusing finding reception when we first arrived (its on the 4th floor). The dorms are a little tight when full but we had them to ourselves for 2 nights. There's a lockbox under the beds. AC was great! The shower stalls are actually seperate from the toilets and have hot water. There was a common area to hang out in and the WiFi rarely reached the dorm room. You also get some discount at the restaurant on the first floor.

You arrive in a restaurant, so enter in the hostel with your backpack during the lunch or dinner is not convenient at all. The 2nd day one of the staff told me they were supposed to make some work near the room the next morning so i could be disturbed at 10am, no problem. But then when i came back at night i discovered it was not near but IN my room, and they have touched my bed, and all of my stuff and the odor was terrible.. I complained, they said "sorry" and the 3rd day someone did it again

Good place to stay. Cheap, nice atmosphere, friendly staff.
