If you don\'t care much about cleanliness it is a great place to stay. Location is good, most of the staff is friendly and helpful (specially the crazy guy from the restaurant), breakfast included, etc.. Nice terrace for eating, drinking and having fun.

Great experience at Route 39 - helpful and friendly staff to help with recommendations and things to do. Lovely breakfast all included in the price, although you have to pay extra for coffee. Nice location near Taksim Sqaure/Istikal Street and a bit away from the main tourist attractions in the Old City, but very easy to reach via the metro. Room was comfortable and clean and a good value for the price.

A good, affordable option. The location was great - not too far from Taksim Square which seems to be where much more Turkish locals as opposed to tourists spend their time. Although we were not staying in the Sultanahmet (where the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia etc is located) we only had to walk 200m to the end of the street to catch a tram for 2 Turkish Lira that had us there within 10 minutes. Nice rooftop terrace area and a good provided breakfast - cereal, bread, fruit, tomatoes etc.

I originally only came for a weekend, but wound up staying for nearly two weeks. This may be one of the most interesting, lively hostels I've ever had the pleasure to stay at. The rooms were exactly as expected and the location, literally minutes from Taksim Square and a brisk walk to the historical area, is unmatched. The staff was vibrant and always in a mood to talk, eat or have a drink. Nicki, the chef, may be one of the friendliest and most genuine people I have ever met. Highly Recommend

Very good hostel to stay in Istanbul: - close to Taksim, more real Istanbul comparing to SultanAhmet but close to historical sights as well as to modern day and night life - rooftop terrace, where you can have decent sight on Bosporus, while eating, drinking and enjoying a conversation with a travelers and the stuff came from all around the world - good, supportive, english speaking stuff - much day light in living rooms - the price is very competitive - the issues are small not very important

I had a great time in this hostel! It's situated in a good location, the rooms are clean and silent and the staff is awesome. There's also a terrace with a beautiful sightseeing of the Bosphorus.

The staff was very friendly and would always go out of their way to chat with their residents. It definitely made you feel welcome. Overall you basically get what your paying for. It's nothing fancy, but it is definitely simple.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The staff was very knowledgeable about things to do, and helped us organize activities on a number of occasions. The atmosphere on the rooftop was always fun, and we met some amazing people. overall, a very great stay.

Found the staff to be incredibly helpful and friendly, but would've liked to see things a little cleaner. The shared bathrooms were not very clean, some of the bathroom lights didn't work, and our heater made a burning smell when we turned it on. It's good if you're looking for a cheap hostel, but I had higher expectations after reading the reviews on Hostel World.

Great roof-top terrace for spending some time relaxing. Spacious dorm rooms with plenty of natural light and windows that open (very much appreciated in any dorm room).

When we arrived in the evening our room (reserved a lon time before) was not prepared for us and we had to stay one day in another room (without bathroom). Although we could move another day and we payed less money it was very unpleasant.
