The place was very hard to find. A GPS crossroads or coordinates would be helpful. We found the room to be very spacious but very bare. Perhaps a chair or little table, or hooks for coats. Soap dish in shower? Hardest beds in Ireland.

Thank you very much for your review and feedback. We do have directions and GPS coordinates on the map and directions page. I know when we had a long and very pleasant conversation you did say that you were finding it very difficult driving in Ireland and that being\\"young at heart" didn't make it any easier :))We do have hooks on the end of the beds and also under the shelves. If you read our other reviews most of our guests find our mattresses quiet comfy.

Would've been nice to have a place to park. Other than that, no complaints!

Thanks very much for your very nice review. We have parking right across the street from the hostel which is "free" from 5.30pm until 10am and costs €1.30 for 2 hours at other times. If we had known we would have also shown you where you could park for "free" all day about 7 mins walk from the hostel. We hope you get a chance to visit us again soon. Regards from all the team @ Rowan Tree Hostel.

Hostel was pretty good. I liked the rooms. Spacious, with comfortable beds. The kitchen and dining area were also really good. Lots of fridge space. The bathrooms were ok. There was no soap in the dispensers both days I was there, so it didn't seem like they were checking the bathrooms, and I found the showers weren't good. Push button showers, and the length of time the water stayed on was way too short. You had to constantly turn around to put the water back on

Thanks very much for your review and your feedback. Our houskeeping staff are on duty everyday and I can assure you the bathrooms are thoroughly cleaned and soap dispensers refilled, our soap dispensers are not aotumatic and you have to push the underneat to release the soap.We do have push button showers in some of the communal showers but we have regular showers in the ensuite rooms. The next time your coming back remind us and we'll try to upgrade you. Regards all the team @ Rowan Tree Hostel

The staff was fairly friendly and helpful. They always had input on the best sites to see, pubs to go to, and places to eat. Thanks Brian for being so much help.

This was one of our favorite hostels out of the 6 we stayed in in Ireland. Everything was clean, the staff was really friendly, and we really enjoyed ourselves and the surrounding town.

We got upgraded from 10-bed room to a private en-suite with a balcony at no extra charge, so our stay was that much better! Staff was very friendly and helpful. We recommend staying here.

The staff was great. I was going to a wedding and the guy who met me at the desk was very helpful. The kitchen in this hostel is AMAZING. Big enough to have everyone there at the same time and never get in anyone's way. Overall, was a good experience. The beds were really comfortable and I loved that our 6 bed dorm had its own ensuite.

Thanks a million for your lovely comments especially as I was the guy you met at the desk :))) We put a lot of thought in to the kitchen design as we love to cook ourselves and it seems to have worked. Glad you found the beds comfy. Thanks again from all the team @ Rowan Tree Hostel.

Wow, Rowan Tree Hostel.... where do I begin? Maybe by the fact that the hostel is situated in a mansion by the river? That the people are lovely and the staff makes us feel like home? Or maybe that the breakfast is included and delicious? Or shall I say something about the amazing leather couches adn wooden staircases that makes us feel more in a three star hotel than a hostel? I really don't know... go there and see for yourself!

I stayed here during the week, so perhaps it wasn't as 'happening' as it would be on the weekends. Very clean, excellent bathrooms, good breakfast. Downside is that you have to pay for lockers. Great hostel overall though.

Thanks a million for you lovely review, our housekeepers do a great job in keeping the hostel spotless and were glad you enjoyed the free light breakfast. Our lockers are free to use but we do take a €5 deposit for the key which we return when the key is returned. Thanks again from all the team @ RowanTree

Super nice! Right on the river too with great kitchen, great rooms and everything was so clean! Staff was cool too and made for good conversation (better than a lot of other hostels who treat people like wallets and not people).
