This is by far the best hostel I've stayed in. Rooms are spacious and clean. Beds are comfortable. They ended up giving us a family room for the price of the 6 person dorm, and it was just 2 of us in the room. There's a cafe/bar downstairs, and the hostel is close to everything. The staff were able to accommodate our early breakfast request and were very friendly and helpful. Free wifi and 2 computers for use in the main area near the kitchen. I would definitely stay here again!

Rowan Tree is the perfect way to enjoy the trad music scene in Ennis, especially the Tradfest! Door's always open, and there's always a nook for a tune.

Awesome place, lovely staff, good price. Room was quite cramped though - ten beds in quite a small space (room 201)

Friendly staff in a recently modernised, efficient building. -yet still manages to retain some character. Well equipped modern kitchen available most times + dining room + free internet access The rather grand sitting room - with large open log fire when chilly -is a real bonus. A good place to chat; meet new friends' and play a few tunes - if thats your thing. (Ennis is a good base for traditional music sessions. You're likely to find one somewhere or other most nights of the week).

Rowan Tree is the best hostel ever. Clean, spacious well-run hostel, friendly helpful staff, good breakfast and tea and coffee on tap all day. Well heated (I stayed in November)! Comfy beds and nice ensuite bathrooms. I found it very quiet at night in a 6 bed dorm. Lovely communal lounge with open fire. Just a small request re security: please put a sign up at the top of the stairs to remind people to shut the card entry door to the bedrooms, it was always left open.

Amazing place. They gave me a free upgrade when I walked in the door. Very clean and very safe. Beautiful location right in town on the river. Wonderful, spotless kitchen. I honestly don't know how they do it! Closest place to home for me in months! Thank you!

Visited off season and had an awesome time! My friend and I had a six bed share all to ourselves. We ate at the neighboring cafe/restaurant and had an enjoyable time.

This was by far the best hostel we stayed in while in Ireland. Upon arrival we were given a free upgrade of a four bed dorm to ourselves. It was like a good hotel in the way it was accommodating and clean yet had that wonderful hostel international flavor. They printed our boarding passes for the plane, call us a taxi, and when I left my camera in the taxi at the airport, facilitated it's safe return. I would say much more but there is a limit of room here. Thank you Marianne and Damien! Lisa
