I had a lovely 4-night stay and appreciated it very much!
The location and staff at the Royal Mile can't be beat! I got to Edinburgh pretty early and they had no proble, with me leaving my luggage and getting a little tea before I got started on visiting the city that day. They were also super helpful in pointing out fun things to do that day and giving me the inside scoop on the best tours and festivals to go to. The only complaint is the sheets/hallway could be freshened up as they had a slight smell to them... however nothing to riun a trip!
Relatively small hostel with only a very small common room (unless there was one hidden somewhere else haha). So not the easiest to meet people or hangout. The hostel is in an amazing location though! Right on the Royal Mile surrounded by lots to do and see. Staff were pretty friendly as well. Kitchen was a bit lacking (only a two burner hotplate, no stove, and limited space)
Best hostel of my trip. Although a bit difficult to find the first time around, the location was perfect, right in the heart of the old city. The staff was friendly, a fireplace and free hot chocolate made everything even better. Clean, charming and cosy.
The hostel is cozy, rooms are a little bit ugly but I spent just one night so it was okay, showers and WC are small, 3 guys of the staff were friendly the other ones look at you as if you were an intruder, they live there so they feel at home... the place is small. It was okay for one night
Our group, who always travel together, had never have problems with a hostel before. The staff of a hostel is supposed to be helpful, to know about the city and at least to smile. But in this case, prepare yourself to a VERY unpolite and not helpful staff, on a hotel that is not bad located but the room smells like mold and is noisy (at meast my room). In terms of facilities it is not the best one but is quite ok, but you definitely are not gonna feel yourself welcome. One of the worse hostels.
Overall great, cozy, clean hostel that everything need.
We had a great stay at the hostel. Clean and friendly staff. It will be nice if the lounge area was a bit bigger with a TV and maybe a game/socialising room. The hostel is in a very good location. Will definitely stay there again.
Great hostel! Perfect location. Great bang for your buck. Book quickly, this place fills up! Only thing- bar underneath so kind of loud at night but didn't last too long into night
A very nice hostel. Calm and safe. Great location! Funny room names and bed names.
I stayed for 5 nights recently. The atmosphere in this place is great. They give free tea which is great, and have various breakfast options available which is nice too. One thing though - on Friday, Saturday & Sunday nights, there is *a lot* of noise from the live music in the pub downstairs, which makes it really quite difficult to sleep until the early hours of the morning. The room doors also close quite loudly, so unless you have considerate people sharing the room, this is a big nuisance.

Staffs are very nice and friendly. The hostel is located in the city centre near of the turistic places. I recommend it!
Hostel was quite basic, clean beds, location is right on the royal mile so very convenient. staff were mostly friendly. kitchen is very basic, and also only two showers/toilets each for men and women for the whole hostel, so you usually have to queue to use. otherwise was quite clean. downside to the location is that it could be quite noisy. room also got quite hot, though probably not too much of a problem in winter time. would recommend anyway!
Although this hostel was right on the royal mile we paid way more than it was worth (probably because the Fringe festival was going on). It was so noisy at night, the bathrooms needed a little TLC and maybe more stalls for how many people this hostel serves, the kitchen facilities were a little lacking as well. The staff was friendly but not very attentive. When we checked in we had to wait with no greeting while the attendant was on the phone. they did have hair straighteners to borrow!
was a nice little hostel but the beds all could of done with there own little lights. this would help on a night when coming in and other people in the room
The hostel has the perfect location and the staff is great. There are few toilets and showers for the size of the hostel but at the end it turns out well. I would definitely choose this hostel again.

Stayed here during the Edinburgh Festival and it was quite noisy outside, so earplugs are a must. Otherwise, it's in a fantastic location in the Old Town - was so easy to walk everywhere, and it was a short walk from the rail station. I had a really comfortable stay even though I was in a 10-bed room, which was large and spacious and didn't feel cramped at all. Staff were so helpful and kind, and I had a very pleasant stay here!
Although this hostel was in a great Edinburgh location, I would not stay here again, nor would I recommend it to a friend. The rooms had a musty smell and the beds and bathroom felt unclean. 10 bunk beds in one small room might make good business sense for the hostel but it did not feel hygienic.
Great hostel. Right on the Royal Mile (so within walking distance of all the sights) and close to everything you need. Staff were really friendly, and it was easy to meet people. The dorm room was very spacious too.
