The hostel did not accept credit card, thus we had to pay in cash. However, the hostel did not have change, making the checking in process very frustrating.

Excellent location, friendly staff and we got blankets since our room was so cold the first nights. I would come back next time I'm in NY.

Good hostel, good value for money, perfect for a short stay of 1 week. Very good location with easy & quick access to Central Park, and to 3 subway lines (1, 2, 3), 10 minutes to Times Square with the express subway.

This place was as advertise. Nothing special, just a clean room with a shared bathroom. The first room we were in was TINY! Like so tiny I couldn't open the door AND have my suitcase open. We were moved to a slightly bigger room where space seemed ample even though it was still tiny. My only complaint is that there is ONE bathroom for probably 10-15 rooms (all of which are a double.). It is a task to get a shower in the morning and at night. Outside is very noisy as well. Overall, good place.

The staff must learn to be more friendly. We came to checkin and they didn't even said hello and kept talking to each other, like nobody is standing in front of them.

We were in that hotel for a week. The location is good but our room was so tiny we couldn't stay more than for sleeping. The wifi was really slow.

I stayed at the Royal Park when visiting NY with my daughter who is is studying in Boston. The hostel is well located for the subway. It is very basic.. Decor is poor and cleanliness borderline. We were upgraded from a twin room to a room with 2 queen beds which were comfortable, The lock on the door was inadequate and could easily be forced should someone so wish. The staff are friendly and helpful. Storage cost $2/bag

The hotel was very good for the price we paid, and its location was perfect to go to Midtown or downtown Manhattan in only a few minutes. I would recommend it to any person who is willing to travel to NYC.

The staff was really friendly and helpful. I was allowed to use the staff pc, because my tablet wasn't working, to print my boarding pass. Also he explained me how to get to my airport and printed the bus times out for me.

This is really good place to stay, especially if you visit New York with a big group. The prices for accomodation is quite reasonable, taking into account nice location of the Hotel, which is very close to the Central Park, the Subway station and Supermarket :) The staff is doing really great job, as they are always ready to help you in every situation. And it is really nice to hear "House Keeping" every morning, which means that people are doing their job properly and in time.

It's very clean, and the subway is very close to the hostel, in few minutes you can get to time square.

A very basic hotel but was fine for what we paid for it. Our room was clean and comfortable and the hotel is in a good location close to the subway and Central Park. It's a shame there are no communal areas to meet with other travellers.

It is not comfortable for the clients to find out that although the reservation is done they have to stay at another place for one night arguing that it is a better place. At the end is an inconvenience to be moving between hotels.

The heat did an awful noise at night, but the rooms were very warm. You won't get cold. The single bedroom with shared bathroom was too small, there is no place to put your l suitcase open, but on top of the bed. Although, the room has a queen bed, which is good. The best thing about the hostal is the location. It's easy to get around Manhattan if you have a close subway station, like the hostal has (96th, L1)
