This is a great place if you want something cheap and in Harlem. It is a bit of an odd place to get to, up 2 flights of stairs above a dentist. You will find a clean and updated kitchen and bathroom. The rooms are small but clean and the bed is satisfactory, Good internet access and on the same block as the subway 116st. Found that phoning to get reception a little odd and impersonal.

We had a problem with the TV in our room and despite the various phone calls I gave to the check-in service number I couldn't get anyone coming and fix it. Therefore we didn't have the TV for the 3 full days whereas this was clearly included in the price we paid for the room. Apart from that I really appreciated the work done by the cleaning lady and her availability in case of problem.

Very angry about this booking. My stay was cancelled overnight without them letting me know. They charge your credit card in full 24h hour before your arrival and that wasn't mentioned when booking the room. Poor policies and practices. Very dissapointed

i recommend this hostel for travellers as it is clean and convenient. everything is better than i expected. check in and check out are all self service which is good as u can save the tips =p
