2 showers and 2 toilets in 1 tiny room with soggy CARPET between - for the whole hostel, male and female. Shower doors a bit transparent too. We got the private room: no windows, smelled strongly of urine/bug spray/both. Luggage room has no shelves or door (just a curtain) and they let everyone in there. Accidentally checked out a day early by mistake and they didn't correct me until I came back at night to collect my luggage, annoying as I could've left them in locked room. No refund either.

The majority of hostels in Singapore are quite pricey... So when you factor that in, Rucksack is a decent bargain. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful but there is always something to be said about a 28 bed dorm. It can get quite noisy and the stale smell in the morning was less than pleasurable. My wife also had some of her underwear stolen while we were out one day (They provide lockers but we never expected to have underwear, of all things, stolen).

Great hostel in a great location. When the hostel is full it can be a little tough with the bathrooms and showers because there are only two each, but never really had a real issue with it. Thanks for a good time!

Friendly staff, nice welcome, good private room - although without window. We recommend this small hostel for budget conscient. The place is quiet, well located. Free bread and hot beverage is a great bonus. We would go there again.

A little strange having only 2 toilets and showers and that they were almost in the kitchen.

Nice little hostel, it lacked in any real atmosphere and opportunity to meet other travellers was limited due to the limited communal space. It's a well located hostel that is fine to stay at for a stopover.

a good place to stay if you are on low budget traveling course. the big sofa in the living room is very comfortable, the only drawback was only about the bathroom, which is only two for the whole hostel. overall, nice place to stay

When we enter the building, we were reluctant at first because of the dirty stairs going up to rucksack. But it all disappear when we checked in. We found the place cool and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay, it feels like we were not away from home. The best thing is the location... walking distance from the beautiful spots of Singapore. More power to Rucksack Inn!!!

Very good location very close to all the main attractions in sg within walking distance. Staff were super friendly and the rooms were kept spotlessly clean every morning. Plus the provided locker was an added bonus.

Great location! 3 min walking to metro and about 7 to the pier with lots of restaurants (which are quite pricey though). Rucksack staff gives free flyers to one of the best clubs - the Butter Factory. It's also close to the hostel. Free toasts with jam and butter all day long. Very nice place, you won't regret!

I had a snoring person who kept everybody up the first night. Not fun. Most of all, I was disappointed that this place says it is air conditioned but the AC is hardly ever on in the common area. I would walk in from the outside, and it would feel no different inside the hostel. I would be sitting at my computer SWEATING. AC is one of my main criteria, so I was not pleased with this situation. People would ask for AC< then they would turn it off the instant people left the room for a minute.

An excellently run hostel, I would go as far as to say it's the best I've ever stayed in! Very accommodating and friendly staff, I would recommend it to anyone visiting Singapore.

It's great when you have people who aren't 60+ are staying and aren't the "fun kind of 60+"...no age limit, just keep that in mind
