This hostel was fine, and met the need. It's in the middle of the city, in a cement building where the inside rooms have been remodeled to be Japanese style (tatami rooms). When we tried to open the window, we found it was a fake window inside a cement wall. But having an air conditioner in the room made it pleasant. The Japanese style bath was also a bonus, even in summer. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
Very nice place to stay. The rooms are not so big but enought, with tv, hot tea and in japanese style with tatami and futon! Toilets and bath are separated. Bathroom is common but if you go early or late you can use bath only for your self. Hopefully there is air conditioner because it s really hot in summer. This ryokan is close to a beautiful and peaceful park and close to subway and train station. 5mins to Nagoya station by train and about 10 mins by walk to market/shops. I enjoyed it!

We greatly enjoyed the tatami mats, futon and tea in the rooms. Though the VERY shared bath was quite a surprise the supplied towels and robes helped. Quite a walk to the station and centre of town though the ryokan was easy to find.
The owner was very helpful when I made a reservation for the ferry in Korea. Not the cheapest place, but if you are into tatami rooms it will be satisfying enough. I totally recommend it.
