The reception was bad, the woman slept in the room during the day and wasn't welcoming at night. I arrived at night the first time and I had to wait a time, I felt quite long, time she needed to open the front door. She was busy but it is not very nice to wait at midnight alone and wonder if someone will or will not open the gate...

The man who checked us in was very helpful, too bad he wasn't around more during the week. The location cannot be beat, and the room was very nice. Not much communal space for long term stays though.

Great value accom, very good bunk beds. Quiet place though as hard to socialise as kitchen and recepetion area are separated, so people mostly hang in kitchen which doesn't have much room, and is uncomfortably bright. Didn't have an english speaker for most of my stay, basically the cleaning lady was working. The the owner was there for check in, probably best check in i've had. Main problem is that the doors get locked over night, from the inside and the outside, so your'e trapped in a fire...!

Upon first arrival at SG1 we were 'greeted' extremely poorly and instantly felt unwelcome by one member of staff. The hostel was described as having a 24 hour reception which clearly some members of staff were not happy about. The computer and the tap was broken. The showers were in the kitchen. We felt bullied by one member of staff and another guest. The location was brilliant though and the owner of the hostel was extremely nice so it was a shame that the other staff were so rude.

Sg1 is what hostel should be like. Located in the middle of everything in amazing historical building. Large rooms and lots of space around. Staff was amazing we had lots of fun with Sarah and Peter they made our stay. We`ve got lots of tips and ideas and helped us to enjoy the most of this beautiful city. Highly recommended this hostel and Prague to all travellers.

i stayed for literally one night so cant say much. i then changed to a hostel close to the center and realized how bad the location on this one was. you should definitely stay on the other side of the city, its closer to the main sites. comfortable bed, helpful staff, mini kitchen. it looked like i could have a nice stay there because of the atmosphere, but i wouldnt recommend it because of the location.

Hostel was not too far off from City Center, defiantly walking distance. I really like the location actually, cause things were cheaper, but just as good. Staff was more than friendly and helpful. Only one bathroom and one shower, which is basically in the kitchen, can be a bummer. The reception area is really comfortable, but most people seem to hang in the kitchen, which is cool, but while I was there the Wifi only worked in the reception area, even though it said I had full bars.

I stayed there for two nights. Location is wonderful, but that is the end of good things. Hostel is noisy, showers are located in the kitchen, everyone have his own key to the doors, but generally everyone from the street can get in to the dormitory area - reception is in other part of building. There is cleaning lady who clean the hostel at the midnight, what is very noisy and annoing. KItchen is generally full equipped, but disgusting dirty. I’m gonna choose another hostel next visit in Prague
