Great hostel with a very busy kitchen leading to a great atmosphere. Was kinda rubbbish through that male showers were on the floor below were i was staying. very close to the old town as well which is handy. Security is high here with lockers in the room and the use of key cards.
Sweden is an expensive city, and this hostel was no different. I expected more after paying so much compared to other hostels I have stayed at. They don't offer free breakfast, the facilities are not very clean and there are very few facilities for the number of people using them. The staff was not overly helpful or friendly, and the atmosphere was poor. Usually those who stay at hostels, from what I've experienced, are between the ages of 18-26, but many were families and 40+.
Staff were extremely helpful plus perfect location to see everything you need.
Staff were excellent - very friendly and knowledgeable, and great English. Linen and towel included at no extra cost unlike most other Stockholm hostels. There is a 50SEK fee per night if you aren't part of YHA. We didn't know about the moored ship in front of the hostel when booking, which we were welcome to explore and drink on. This was a nice surprise. There is also a small cafe to buy food and coffee. Only complaint is that there weren't enough showers. Huge lockers - but bring a lock.
The hostel is pretty close to the train station, which was nice because I'd just come off an overnight flight and was dead tired. The place was pretty standard, but very clean and peaceful if that's what you're into. Not much of a place to meet people, but I have no complaints. Located near a bunch of historical vessels, which was great for ambiance in a morning or evening walk. I'd recommend the place.
The hostel is big, but you can definitely meet people. The location is both great and difficult as the public transport is difficult and takes more time, but this might push you to get a bike rental pass, which I strongly recommend you do, this is one of the best locations for it as well.
There is a substantial up-charge if you are not a member. I was in the big dorm room and a guy broke into the room and took what he could find. Turns out a ground floor window was left open and the door to the room doesn't lock well. The bathrooms were also the poorest from my trip through Scandinavia. The location is pretty good if you can't get someplace on Gamla stan.

WC s and showers were small and there weren't enough of them sometimes, but otherwise the place was nice and the staff were friendly.
Very good hostel, nice location, friendly people at the reception.
The room was in most nights overbooked so that additiional beds were added to the dorm.
Be warned there is an extra fee if you're not a member of "Hosteling International"! We went to pay the price quoted on the Hostelworld booking reference and were told that it costs more (it worked out around £5 per person per night more than quoted on Hostelworld) - so bare that in mind when booking as the Hostelworld does not make this extra cost obvious. Apart from that the hostel is in a good location, with a short walk to the main attractions.
We had a room with a view on the harbour, it was just beautifull. Shower and commons are clean, the breakfast is expensive (as everything in Sweden) but it worth it. Same for the room. We had a good time in this hostel.
