Nice staff, but sometimes they were a little bit rude. I think it was just a misunderstanding of two not native english speakers. We needed to get out of the room one day before 10:30 with ours bags because of a fumigation or something in the hostel in the afternoon. Was not a big problem, but they told us just the night before. Room, showers and common areas well clean, but toilets could be better.
Good solid choice overall. Fellow guests are mostly friendly Russians, with a couple of lodgers. Good location and price for Moscow. Free tea and coffee was a nice touch. Big big pluses were the cleanliness and ability to drink alcohol in the hostel - many others in Moscow do not allow it. Tip for visitors: don't bother with the expensive supermarket across the road on Petrovka ul. as five minutes' walk north takes you to a cheaper and more authentically Russian 'produkti'.
This hostel has a good balance between price-location-facilities; the only thing they need to work is with the signals to get there because at the beginning I got lost and most of the people in Russia don't speak English...
I liked the location and the staff was helpfull and the free tea was a nice touch. The room was clean and the atmosphere was nice. Overall a good choice and enjoyable
