Paulo was the best host I could have ever asked for on my vacation to Brazil. He goes out of his way to make you feel at home and welcome. On the first day I arrived, it was raining - so he took me on a tour through the park in his car to make sure I knew where to go the next day. The facilities are beautiful and the breakfast was incredible. The area is removed from the hustle and bustle of downtown Rio, and the nature surrounding the place is beautiful. Great for hikers and bikers.

I'm sure this hostel is awesome during the on-season, with a great meeting area, solid facilities, and comfortable beds. But do be aware that during off-season it's likely to be *completely* empty. It was literally just me and a snoring 80-year-old in the dorm, no atmosphere at all, and to top it off the internet wasn't even working. The owner's epic response was that 'the internet isn't working in the whole world'. Unhelpful and a generally miserable experience, and no apology or refund.
