One of the worse place i have been in two months in India, especially for the staff. Location is not good, just far from everything. Really really noisy. WIFI is working sometimes but only at the reception and really slow. Cold shower. It will ruin the amazing atmosphere of Varanasi.

Well, it's cheap and clean enough. The guy running it is awesome. And very helpful. I guess the only downside is location. Like a twenty minute walk to the ghats.

As I read in the reviews I expected a place clean and with some facilities. But I didn't. The guy in reception was nice, but the internet didn't work, there were no linen or blankets, the bathroom was dirty, the shower had a trickle of water... I wouldn't come back again.

The Basic of the basic and a bit of a walk from the Ghats, but for the price it was exactly what I expected. Hard to give a bad review, since it was so basic and the family that ran the place was so friendly, but the average scores are in line with what you're getting, not because it was a bad place.

Great place, great price great people! Sagar Guest House is a small family run hotel in Varanasi. It is centraly located off Luxa rd about 10 minute walk to Ganga. Still central but tucked away to avoid much hassle in the tourist areas of some ghats. Owners are very friendly, genuine and helpful. I fell sick two days after arriving (I didn't eat at Sagar hostel) and owner made tea and simple dishes for me as I requested and looked after me. Very helpful people, I extended my stay.

Great place to stay in Varanasi. Off the main street, so very quiet. Very friendly staff. Hot Water.

Sunny and his family are very friendly and always greeted me with a genuine smile. They close the hostel at 10pm every night, but if you need to get out or in, you can simply call Sunny or his father. I was quite bothersome (leaving at 4 am and arriving back at 5 am) while my stay there, but they understood that I was a tourist and the train arrives and departs at all odd hours. Defining recommend Sagar.

A very nice place to stay in Varanasi, comfortably rooms, nice terrace. Mr Sagar and his father are very friendly, they helped me with all the information about Varanasi and tips about destinations in India. The location is about 8 minutes walking to the ghats, far away from the noise. You have wifi and internet free, definitly if i come back to Varanasi, i 'll choose this guesthouse.

The father and son who run this hostel are really friendly. We had a very big room on the first floor, with private bathroom and little balcony. Hot shower on request. Wifi was even working in our room, but turned off during the night. Location is good (10 min walk to ghats) and not too noisy. The location also allows to explore parts of town other than the old city and ghats. Great food and chai served in your room (no communal area unfortunately except for roof terrace). Great value for money!

Sagar is very safe. I am a woman traveling alone trough índia, and that is only possible because of those places. Not much hot water, but this is basic in Varanasi, even inside big hotels. Huge room, left my bags there after checkout. Very fine place.

The hostel is perfectly located in the busy street of Luxa. Its close to the main attractions and only ten minutes walk from the Ganga river. It is also charming that on the back street there is a small monkey temple, so you can be prepared of visits from monkeys on your balcony :) The staff is very friendly we had an excellent time in this hostel. I would definitely come back to this hostel if I go to Varanasi again.
