I expected someone to be at the door when we arrived, instead we had to wait 30 minutes at 4am and wake everyone in the building because the staff was in bed. The shower was also a big issue, there was no hot water so for a week we had to shower in the freezing cold. The fan above us wanted enough to keep the room cool, so we constantly had to live on the balcony just to keep cool. The oven wouldn't turn on so we actually burnt our hands trying to light it. They also charged us for being late.

The hostel is great. The location is wonderful as it is not even 5 minutes away from the Sagrada familia and the subway station. Furthermore there are 2 supermarkets across the street from the hostal where one can buy any supplies one might need. Breakfast was served by a Peruvian guy who was very welcoming and gave useful tips on several attractions in Barcelona and even gave his own map of Barcelona to one of the guests that did not have a map. I definately recommond this hostel to everyone.

My girlfriend and I did not have the best experience here. Showed up an hour early for our time, but no one showed until 45 min after our time. There is no desk, this is much more of a bed n breakfast than hostel. Owner was out of town and communicated to his employee that we had contacted him and said we would be late (never happened). On the plus side, breakfast is made fresh every morning and it is in a pretty decent location, very close to the sagrada familia as the name would suggest.

We paid EUR20 deposit for keys and never got a refund. The owner said he was going to send them by PayPal but never received anything (after reminding him twice!). During our stay they never did our beds or replace the towels. Breakfast was suppose to be included in the price but it was prepared only on our first morning. The following 3 mornings we did not find any breakfast.

Great place, great people, great service! The service that Roger gave us was exceptional, the house was very well cleaned, the breakfast was good and Roger advised us some of the best places to visit, to eat, directions to arrive to the hostel and he even woke up at 5.00am to transport us to the airport !

It's like a big apartment with some rooms and common facilities (bathroom, living room with TV, little terrace, kitchen...) provided with everything necessary. The athmosphere was very calm, ideal to whose who want to have a quite and safe stay. The staff was discreet and helpful. The room was perfect, clean. Excellent location... Highly recommended!
