average hostel, no functioning wifi in top floor. plenty of tours to be booked, avoid the city tour. claim to use Visa & Amex but "the machine doesn't work". nice vibe & breakfast was ok, rooms were fine (don't expect your room to be cleaned during your stay), location is hard to find the first time, but close to many restaurants and bars

I was so pleased with this hostel, the staff are the most friendly I\'ve ever met! They were so helpful, and so forthcoming - if you\'re just hanging around the (quite good) common room/reception, you can avoid getting to know them. Dorms are good and clean, has one shared bathroom, but it is not usually a problem. It\'s very close to town, and it\'s a good starting point for meeting other travellers.

Not a bad hostel, but definitely not quite as advertised. The room was not nearly as nice or clean as it is pictured. We had to climb 6 flights of stairs to get to our room. They often ran out of some breakfast items. Other than these minor issues, it is a good place to stay with reasonable room rates.

Great place to stay whilst in HCMC. A little out of the way, so some signage would be great. if you can't find them give them a call, they'll be out to find you in minutes. Staff were fantastic and so helpful. have added them as Facebook friends. Rooms are cleaned daily, aircon works (very important) and bathrooms are mould free and never wet for long.

The staff were relatively friendly, the room was very clean and the location was extremely convenient. The only downside is that our room was all the way on the 5th floor so we had to carry our luggage all the way there up a narrow staircase.

Very friendly, welcoming and helpfull staff. Easy to meet other travellers. The facilities are great - internet access and computers in common room, wifi in the rooms, hot water, air con, breakfast, tour bookings. Everything you need!

We stayed at the Saigon Backpackers hostel for 3 days and most of the time it was a blast. Though the staff wasn't very customer-oriented and most of the time they were more playing around with each other and making fun of situations with guests than helpfull and friendly. One guy checked-out and somehowe broke a clip while taking a shower after check-out, the staff went crazy about it and demanded him to pay for it. When he refused they cancelled his taxi and kept the money for fixing. Too bad.

It was far from everything, there was no atmosphere, no place to meet people or socialise really. the staff were ok, tried to charge us for half a day as we checked in early even though no one told us that would happen when we arrived early.

Great backpackers! Really friendly staff, nice big rooms with huge new beds, really close to the centre. Brilliant! I would definitely stay here again.

Nice, clean dorm rooms with a very comfortable bed (especially for a dorm room). Great location - very close to a local market, and near all the restaurants/bars/travel agencies in the backpacker district, but down a quiet alley, so I was never bothered by any noise at night. Helpful staff and a nice free breakfast. They have computers, a TV, and a nice couch in the small common area. Cheap but a very nice place to stay. I would definitely stay here again.

Positives: The rooms are very clean, and the beds are great. The staff was helpful with local info and happy to book tours and trips. Negatives: The staff doesn\'t do much to make you feel at home (freedom to use the kitchen, etc). The front door locks late at night, and you have to ring the bell incessantly \'til someone gets up to let you in. Trail of ants leading to the wastebasket in the kitchen. The common area isn\'t very welcoming, making it kinda\' difficult to meet other backpackers here.

Relatively good location on one end of the tourist district. About a 20 minute walk from Ben Tanh market. Rooms are clean and the AC is fantastic. Nice cozy common area with a big flat-screen TV to hang out around.
