Clean and bright, the hostel was easy to get to and from. Storage lockers under the bed weren't quite large enough for one of my backpacks, but had ample space for my valuables and some clothes. Bathrooms met all needs, having a shelf in the shower would be helpful. Staff was always friendly.
Very helpfull staff. Very near the Earl's Court underground station. Only two things I didn't like: pillow & mattress.
Excellent wi fi in rooms. I stayed in a 8 room mixed dorm. Very tiny, barely any room for everyone's luggage, was very cramped. I would not stay in the 8 room mixed dorm again, would try a different option. Dorm style bathrooms. Not the best, but whenever I needed a shower one was available (some drainage problems though). I did check out 4 night early, which turned out to be quite the hassle. Would only consider this hostel again if I were to stay in a different room and because of its location
- Internet is basically non-existent as it disconnects you every 5 minutes or so. - You have to pay extra for basically everything (which I was unaware of, since badly advertised). 1£/day kitchen use, 2£/day for breakfast (this was advertised), 2£/bag if you want to leave your stuff there on the checkout day. - Disappearing of food from the communal fridge, not sure if this was the staff who threw it out or other guests who took it. - Showers cleanliness not always guaranteed.
Great hostel with friendly staff. It was clean and the breakfast was very good. The room (6 bed room) was good too, but there could have been one or two hangers to hang the jackets or the towels. Thanks for a great stay!

St James Backpackers is fine and new, thoughtfully refurbished from stem to stern into this pointedly user friendly and comfy hostel facility, a People's Premisis, as Tony Blair might have put it, on a very proper SW 5 London Street, less than a one minute hop from and to Earl's Court Road and the ever so usable number 74 red bus line (Marylebone and Marble Arch to Putney High Street), with a huge life-altering Tesco (!) hidden away just three blocks west, also Brompton Cemetary (1859) nearby.
Great, clean space, and the location is wonderful. The hidden costs (like the 10 pound deposit that you get paid back, but in cash...at the end of my trip I cant do anything with cash really) were slightly frustrating, but understandable nonetheless.
everything perfect except the showers in a poor condition
Decent backpackers for london, Good location close to Earls Court underground, nice common areas people used, and plenty of room for breakfast. Showers were awful, could not get warm water, always hot or cold. Room for 3 people was TINY! All bathrooms were unisex. Staff were helpful and booked us a cab to the airport.
Great Staff, Very Clean Good Location, Excellent Hostel
