Property Information:
Welcome to Sakae-no-yu Asama Onsen. We are a quaint Japanese style hostel located in Asano Onsen area, known for its hot springs and history. Our hot spring is 100% natural, not heated or filtered. FREE WiFi Internet access, and great access to famous sightseeing spots.
We are a three-story wooden building. We have 14 guest rooms, all Japanese style. Here, you can enjoy the traditional Japanese atmosphere. There are no bathrooms in the guestrooms. Please use the public bathrooms on each floor.
Our bath is 100% natural hot spring, neither heated nor filtered. The water is also drinkable. You can bring your own bottle, fill it with the hot spring water, and cool it in your refrigerator before drinking if you prefer delicious cold mineral water. The temperature of the hot spring water is about 45 degrees Celsius. If the water is too warm for you when you take a bath, please adjust the temperature by adding cold water. The public baths are open 24 hours everyday, so feel free to enjoy a hot spring bath anytime. Our public baths are classic Japanese style with no showers, which are rare nowadays. However, we do have a chartered bath available, with shower, no advance reservation required.
We offer seasonal Japanese style breakfast and dinner, cooked with fresh locally grown ingredients. We have daily specials everyday. Meals can be served in guestrooms, for our guests to enjoy a private meal time with friends and families. If you have any request for food, such as things you cannot eat or would like to eat, please contact us in advance. We will make every effort to fill your request.

From JR Shinjuku Station to JR Matsumoto Station, by Limited Express Azusa, Chuo-honsen Line, about 150 min.
From Osaka by train:
From JR Shin-osaka Station to JR Nagoya Station, by Nozomi Shinkansen, about 50 min.
From JR Nagoya Station to JR Matsumoto Station, by Limited Express Shinano, about 120 min.
From Nagoya by train:

From Tokyo by bus:
From Shinjuku Station to Matsumoto Bus Terminal, about 3 hours and 30 min.
The JR Matsumoto Station is on the west side of the bus terminal.
From JR Matsumoto Station:
After getting out the east exit of JR Matsumoto Station, walk down the front stairs and turn right. You will see a police box on your right. Walk along the sidewalk and go upstairs from the basement floor of Esupa Building, a department store, to the ground floor. Take a Alpico bus bounds for Asama Onsen from No. 1 bus terminal, and get off at Yuzaka Bus Stop. Walk to a forked intersection, and take the road in the middle. Walk uphills for 50m, and turn left at the crossroad. Walk for another 15m, and you will see the entrance of the hotel on the left side of the road. It is a 15min bus ride, and it takes 5min to walk from Yuzaka Bus Stop. The bus fair is 350 yen.
If you take a taxi from JR Matsumoto Station, it takes about 15min, and cost around 2000 yen.
We offer transportation service to and from JR Matsumoto Station, from 9:00 until 20:00, to groups of more than 8 guests. Please contact us 3 days in advance if you need to be picked up from the station. We also offer transportation service to the airport to groups of more than 8 people.
