Good location, and lovely staff. The bar underneath was nice, relaxed and friendly. Room contained everything we needed, but wasn't very clean. Would recommend, despite this.

The room wasn't very clean upon arrival. When we came back at the hotel after a night out in the Manchester city centre, we got assaulted by some of the pub guests who didn't let us get to our room because the pub was closing. We were physically attacked by them and the hotel staff refused to call the police. This made us really concerned about our safety during the rest of our stay. We had a fun weekend in Manchester, but we're definitely not going to stay in The Salford Arms again.

Despite booking a room and arriving on-time we found out it had already been given to someone else. They arranged for us to go across the road to stay instead but the rooms smelt of smoke at were not as we requested. We were given 3 badly cooked steaks in compensation but no free drinks as originally promised. We were left in no choice but to accept as we were running the Manchester Marathon the next day and most local hotels were already booked.

Before we arrived we read reviews (bad move). We were surprised staff friendly, really good atmosphere in the pub and the band were great. We had booked for one night as we we going to Manchester Arena not far to walk. The only down side was the treak to the toilet especially in the night. Apart from that we would definately go back and have recommended to friends.

Although the hotel wasn't in Man central, it was easy to find from downtown. We arrived 9 hours later than stated & our room had been cancelled from the list (thankfully a spare was available). The window in the room was unable to shut/open completely. The heating didn't work as well. The warm water was available only at certain timings. We are able to hear any music from the bar and traffic on the roads in our room. The staff however was very friendly and the bar + live music were great!

The draft coming through the window was more of a breeze, but apart from that the staff were excellent and the stay was good value for money.
