Really near the city center and the bus station, you need to ring to enter anytime so it can be annoying if your stay in the hostel for a while, the washroom was a little bit dirty but nothing to afraid you, but the shower wash more the wall than you beacause of is angle

The security wasn't very good with lack of locks on the door and just a doorbell to get in. The rooms were a little cramped but overall the place was nice.

Nice hostel near the Salmon Weir Bridge. I liked how you had to ring the door bell to get in. This ensures that people who shouldn't be there aren't, and the door's answered immediately. The place was decently clean, but the type of people who go there seem more dirty hippie. No Wi-fi and TV is a community TV, the room is literally just a bed and locker. Bath/shower is very small and community, which I didn't like. For a one night stay in Galway it was cheap and efficient. I would recommend it.

Dorm rooms are very tiny and crowded. Some matresses are too bad, others ok. Interent is too expensive. Only good falities are the kitchen and living room. The good thing is that everyone seems to be there to get to know other people and make friends, so this makes it a nice and fun place if that's what you are up to..otherwise u will not like it.

This hostel was very cheap even on the weekends. There were good cooking facilities with salt/oil etc included. The staff were very nice and friendly. And although people complain about not having free wifi I think that the aim of this hostel is to encourage travels to meet other travels instead of just spending time on their computers. It had a nice homely feel/atmosphere, very different from many of the new hostels popping up.

Just little things like the lack of a city map and no help with places to park the car let the hostel down a little. Good place for those on a real strick budget.

For this amount of money i didn´t expect something really fantastic but the room was so small I could hardly move and when you book twin beds you get a loft bed which is squeaking every time you move slightly or you want to turn around on the other side when sleeping at night. We had the 12 bed rooms directly next to us so with silence could the hostel also gain no points. Very positive was the staff, they were really friendly and helpful.

Really nice, friendly, helpful staff. Good atmosphere. Unfortunately the beds are terrible; metal framed bunk beds create very load noises on any movement and the mattresses are too old. So if you are a light sleeper or have a bad back- I don't recommend it (Based on a dorm room). However, at prices like that one can't be choosey, by far the cheapest accommodation in town. A few small changes could transform this hostel into a real hotspot.

I stayed here for 4 nights and I loved it there.Marshal from France was very friendly and welcoming. Its a small and cosy hostel and near the city centre. There is a cafe called Bon Appetito that does €5 irish breakfast and its great.I will stay at this hostel again next time I am in Galway. The pubs and live music is also excellent.

We Spent two nights at Salmon Weir Hostel, at night it was difficult to sleep because the doors crack at night and actually ours opened by itself which was kind of creepy. We stayed in a double room without bathroom and it was ok, the matress wasnt the best quality, but it was clean. The staff where pretty nice, the kitchen was well equipped, and the atmosphere was cool. It is in a very good location, if you are driving to Galway then you have a parking lot right around the corner. Have fun!

If you just need a place for one night, you'll make it through, but I wouldn't stay there longer than that. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, the doors to the rooms are unlocked, and the lockers were very flimsy. They charge for WiFi, which is nuts since you can pretty much go to any public business, office, pub, etc. and WiFi is free. The girl at reception had no idea what I was talking about when I asked her about mobile phone companies and SIM cards.

The hostel is located in what feels like a big house, a home really. The rooms remain open at all times so at first I was a bit worried, but then I relaxed as the whole place felt safe, like staying over at a friend's house. The staff was kind, friendly and helpful. Beds were okay, it was easy to fall asleep too with quiet roomates and a 3am curfew. The bathrooms were clean, but I had a bit of trouble trying to figure out how the showers worked. Great value for your money.

The cheapest hostel we have found in the whole Ireland, with the better quality/price ratio. Near to the city centre, it has got a big and well-equipped kitchen. We stayed in a double private, a little but incredibly pretty (and clean!) room. The staff is really kind and helpful; towels and hair-dryer are free.
