Free wifi about as effective as a chocolate teapot. Great selection of 90s videos for a rainy day.

Great place to stay- would come back on my next visit- small issue was staying next door to a family with very young kids, early morning noise was the only problem

The best hostel I stayed at in New Zealand. Really friendly staff, free wifi was awesome (50mb per day was more than enough). Biked down to the falls. Four person dorm but only one other guy in the room with me while I was there (2 nights - wish I could have stayed longer!)

This was a great place to stay - even though it seems quite big, it had a nice atmosphere and small dorms.

Felt so welcomed when I arrived. Lovely receptionist, but she did tell me about a bunch of danish people staying there. I heard a lot of complaints about them, and well they were a bit loud sometimes etc, but they where on a gap year partying and I've experienced so much worse so not an issue for me. You did have to adapt your cooking hours, but not a problem for me. Lots of free stuff, internet was a bit "mehe" but met some really nice people here. Really good place to stay!!!

Fantastic, we had room 19 which had a view to the beach which we were not expecting. Really large room. Clean and so close to the beach. Will highly recommend to anyone travelling to this area.

One of the best hostels I've stayed and certainly the cleanest. The owners/managers were fantastic. Will stay here again when I return to the Bay of Islands. Cheers

Great place to stay!! The only downside as having 3 pubs around the hostel pumping music out making night time loud!! Apart front that you can't fault the place :)

This was one of the nicest hostels I've stayed at. We booked for 2 in a private room - there were 2 of us but there were four beds so the room would be great for a group of friends or family. Plenty of space, ensuite bathroom, TV, nice deck area. The kitchen/dining & lounge area on the floor below was well equipped and comfortable and the hostel was well located - close to everything but not too noisy. The price was a little higher than other hostel private rooms but definitely worth it

Great kitchen, nice common area in and outside. But the Internet was only a few mega bites and was used up way too quickly. That's the reason I changed to the YHA, wher you get unlimited access for free!

Loved this place so much I enquired and became staff. One of the best hostels I have ever stayed at, and simply one of the best in the country. More like a three star hotel than a hostel, sublime and an excellent set-up all round. A highly recommended visit to any stop in Paihia.
