Not a hostel, just a old apartment with people literally living in the 'hostel'. Of course the kitchen is the common area and in tiny and always taken by locals. Look somewhere else...
A quiet place to sleep in a great location just a few blocks from the landmarks, public transport and dinning options. A lot of Kievan hostels are populated with dodgy (maybe local) guys who you don't feel very safe sleeping nearby. Whereas Salve is ran by a small honest Ukrainian family, occupied by backpackers and travelers. The owner of the hostel speaks English well, which makes things easier if you.. niyiit ya na gavuroo parooskie Thanks D!
Nice hostel. The staff very friendly, you can buy small presents and drink in the hostel. Very good location.

Hello Hostelworld, I sent you an email but you didn't reply. How can I contact you? Salve hostel did not recognize my reservation. Somebody has to pay for this.

Long term residents occupy the lower bunk beds, leaving the upper beds only for short term guests / travellers and making me wonder if this is a hostel or a homeless shelter. Also some long term residents tend to leave the front door of this 6th floor hostel unlocked when going down to smoke outside. If somerhing goes missing, who is ro be blaimed?
