Nice place let down by the number of mosquitos and slight trouble with the shower. Staff were very friendly and responsive. A 10-15 minute walk to Pub Street, the main area for backpackers chilling out after a hot day.

Not bad for a cheap stay however there were mosquitoes everywhere in our room that you couldn't kill enough of them to make a dent in the population

I stayed three nights at Samso Guesthouse and have nothing to complain about ! The rooms are quite large, well-furnished. They have a nice place to have breakfast - breakfast which is really good and cheap. Greatness goes directly to the staff: Really nice, helpful, kind ! Thanks a lot for everything ! Erika

The couple that runs this hostel is so welcoming. Truly a great experience. The wife organized a tuk tuk to take us all around Angkor Wat, taxi transportation from Siem Reap to the Thai border, in-room massages. They even let us shower after we checked out. Clutch in 100 degree weather.

Thanks to samso and his wife the stay was really pleasant. They can arrange everthing, the rooms are clean with good ac and they clean it everyday. Tours to the temples with tuk tuk drivers can be arranged with them for sunset and sunrise whatsoever. Even samso is amguide at the temples so if you book upfront he can be your guide. He studied in europe and speaks a few languages. Againanvery friendly and well run nothing to complain about. Location is quite as well and good restaurants arround.

Superb hostel. The staff could not have been more helpful, organised all our trips and transport and from speaking to other travellers I'm confident the rates are good. The location is great as it is out of the hustle and bustle of the main centre in a Khmer neighbourhood but $1 (tuk-tuk) from pub street. Really enjoyed our 3 day stay.

The rooms were clean and perfect for the three of us traveling, as well as a good price. However, the breakfast was absolutely aweful. They really need to learn how to cook an egg, it's the little things that always matter to a traveler. Also, when we booked the slow boat they told us to be ready at 6am and the person would pick us up between them 6-630am. However they didn't pick us up until about 7am. So we had been up since 5:30 because the women who told us didn't know for sure. Annoying.

Initially booked this hostel for 2 nights....ended up staying for 6. Beautiful guesthouse with the nicest staff in the world. They were always willing to help even let me borrow a cell phone to make an international call. It's a short walk to downtown but well worth staying here. Thank you Sam So you guys are the best! :)

Really nice and helpful, smiley staff. They did everything to enjoy our stay. The location is excellent, you can walk to shops markets easily in 5 minutes. The room was nice, clean and big. The internet a little bit slow, but it is everywhere in Cambodia.

I appreciate that for its price, it offers hotel-like facilities, free airport pick up, breakfast, and cable TV. The owner Sam So and his family were very warm and gracious, and very willing to help us out plan our itineraries. I think though the washrooms and quality of towels could be improved a bit, and I'd be willing to pay more for those. Adding common areas for tourist interaction would be great too. Overall, we still had a great stay and will definitely recommend to our friends.

We stayed at the guesthouse for only one night and felt very comfortable. The manager (the lady) was professional and friendly. The staff was all smiling and helpful. The location was convenient. The breakfast was good.

The staff was superb so I' m a bit upset that I can't give this hostel a better review. They really need to work on cleanliness.

I really like the Sam So Guesthouse the staff was extremly helpful in booking our bus to go back to Phnom Penh! The room was really spacious and clean! Furthermore, to breakfast outside in the fresh air was amazing to! Another good point is that it is a small side street so no noises from the big streets =)

The staff are really nice and helpful, although the level English is very poor. My room wasn't cleaned even once within 3 days i stayed there, even though I specifically asked for it. You can get much better options for the same money

Staff are lovely and can help arranging all sorts of tours and trips around the city. Good location, tucked down an alley so it's quiet at night. Rooms are good sized, fridge didn't work and floor could have done with a vacuum but all else was good.
