Arrived to no receptionist and were put in the wrong room - when the owner arrived we were asked to pay more even though it was their mistake. There was a mistake with our bus (tour operator booked am instead of pm) and we awoke to being screeched at for being late. Was expensive for what it was, only plus side is rooms are relatively comfortable.
Location is ideal for exploring the small town of Kanchanaburi. We suggest hiring bikes from the friendly lady next to the hostel.
Done exactly what it said on the tin! Cheap guesthouse which a basic but clean room. The lady at the desk was helpful when needed and booking outbound trip. Room's are basic, double bed with TV, shower. Left our stuff in the room and felt safe. Walking distance to the Bridge and plenty of bars and food places near by. Good value for money.
Stayed for one night to see River Kwai. Well situated around Kanchan, 15 min walk from railway station. Staff were helpful on arrival, room clean, but basic and comfortable. Good location for restaurants and bars. Enjoyed the stay.
Pretty much get what you pay for, it's all clean and tidy, although we stayed for 6 nights and didn't get our sheets changed once due to some miscommunication with the staff my biggest issue was that it was a handheld shower that was really award to use and was unexpected as it hadn't been mentioned. the staff where friendly but didn't speak much English. The location is really good, and there's a fab bar called Friends Bar down the road on the right!
Read some comments here about, staff not been friendly. This is so not true!! If you are positive, and friendly yourself, they open up and really do there best!! The place can use some maintenance, but don't complain it's cheap! Don't like it, stop backpacking and f*** off to a resort!
