Loved San Gil, loved this hostel. Very chilled place. Girls on reception are awesome - very informative and friendly. Plays good music. Kitchen was great if you're self catering. Spotlessly clean. Can arrange all activities for you. Highly recommended.

THANK YOU SO MUCH JOHANA, ADRIANA AND DANIELA FOR MAKING MY STAY SO ENJOYABLE! Chatting with these girls really brightened my day! Give them promotions Sam! Other then this, the hostel is a quiet, clean place, that helps you book activties and bus tickets!

Hostel was great, rooms are big and clean. Lockers are big enough to fit all your stuff and leave it there safely while you are out doing your things. Booking activities is pretty simple as the hotel staff is very nice and helpful, the know all the right places to go. Common areas are very nice and comfy, the rooftop pool is awesome!!! Will come back again soon!!!

This hostel is definitely the best hostel I ever been, two well equipment kitchens, amazing terrace, swimming pool and sauna, the hostel is very clean and the receptionist help organizing all the activities, the paragliding at the canyon was outstanding, all room had big lockers for the backpacks so don't have to worry for security and also lockers at reception if you want to leave them for a short period, for food we recommend you steak at the steakhouse and breakfast at the food market

Really enjoyed our stay in San Gil and in Sam's VIP Hostel. Very friendly girl at reception with perfect english. Large rooms and nice common areas and facilities. We did the the white water rafting and the paragliding through the hostel - both of which I would recommend. The white water rafting was one of the main highlights of our entire South America trip. Would recommend Sam's bar, Gringo Mike's and Donde Bettys (for breakfast) for places to eat.

Sam's hostel actully has everything you need and more. Pool, good internet, sauna, balcony, 2 awesome kitchens and plenty of nice bathrooms. The best part though is Johana, who is not only the best hostel host, but is one of the sweetest persons I've ever met. Speaks great English and will help you with everything. Most people staying at other hostels hang out at Sams VIP for a reason.

We loved our stay here. The gorgeous girl on the front desk was just amazing, nothing was too much trouble and she booked some excellent tours for us including white water rafting and rappelling. The facilities were great and we loved our little balcony overlooking the square (pity they were doing construction on it when we were there!). Overall pleased as punch for this choice. Highly recommend!

Lovely terrace overlooking the main square which was good for a beer in the evening. Nice big kitchen and friendly staff - particularly the young woman who was on in the mornings. Dorm rooms were basic but clean and had a small locker for bags. Bigger lockers were also available for bags after check out while you are out and about. Hostel has links with certain tour companies but both the kayaking and bike riding tours were good so this was fine.

Everyone was very friendly and very helpful. The facilities and activities offered were great and offered a wide variety. It was easy and homely staying at Sams.

The hostel location was excellent just in front of the main square. The Staff was very kind and was always helping with the organization for the activities, which made our trip very easy, we just had to choose what activity we will like to do and they will help us with the agency for the pick up and all the other things. Sometimes the pressure of the water was bad in the bedroom so it was difficult to have a shower, the other thing is that they don´t accept credit cards to pay the room.

Great place. Just one observation: the computers are very slow, either filled with viruses or malware. Easy fix.

Very nice kitchen, perfect location and friendly staff. Rooms are very small though and only tiny lockers.

Certainly the best hostel I have ever stayed in! For evening drinks you are spoilt for choice between the terrace overlooking them main square and the swimming pool. Rebecca was incredibly helpful and patient with this incompent traveller on reception, organizing my trips and onward travel at below the cost the internet suggested.
