This hostel is right in the middle of downtown, so the location is great. It was a little loud at night, and I could hear the music from the shop next door through the wall, but I always bring ear plugs so it wasn't a big deal. The people were friendly, and it was really easy to meet people at the bar downstairs. The bathrooms weren't spectacular, but there was plenty of water pressure and hot water. It's extremely easy to get here from the airport, and close to lots of venues.

So much character!! So easy to get to, and so easy to get around. Fun and fabulous hostel. Of course, it issss still a hostel, so the rooms were a typical hostel size (not much room) and I would only rely on the free breakfast if I was having a big and early lunch. But, that is all expected. The colors and atmosphere and area are what make this place above and beyond the norm!

Not that clean as the hostels I use to stay at in Europe.

Hostel is great. Staff were awesome fun and happy to help. Good sized common area to chill in for those lazy days. Cafe downstairs very cheap for drinks and food especially with their specials. Helps to save those much needed $$$. As for location. Close to the skytrain but really you can walk everywhere.

Great location as most important attractions are in walking distance, tasty bagel and cream cheese as breakfast, friendly staff with good suggestions to Lynn Valley Park, but my room is facing the street so quite noisy at night and the washroom facilities can be improved by renewing toilet seats and increasing their number.

Great location, decent price. Bar downstairs plays sports games on the projector. Right in the middle of Granville St....awesome scene, great pubs nearby. Very friendly, helpful staff. If you are on the 100 level it is quite loud though.

If you are driving, know that there is no cheap parking anywhere close to the hostel (best I found: $24/24 hours). The bathroom stalls and showers are very small I had trouble getting into the bathroom stall–no space between door and toilet. Had trouble washing my feet in the shower for lack of space. Those are the only downsides. The staff were friendly & helpful, the common areas nice, the bar food decent & inexpensive, & the location excellent.

Good location, can't beat it. It's a very large hostel, at times felt like a hotel. Breakfast was good, wifi worked, very secure. Kitchen set up it a bit average, you have to rent cooking pans from front desk and leave your key as deposit, not the best system. Bar downstairs is ok, good for socialising but prices are the same as other cheap bars around. Full of young people looking to party.

If you're looking for a hostel for one or two days, it s a good hostel to stay. But it's noisy in the night (ofcourse because the location: downtown). Staff at the reception are very nice and enthousiastic. But the other staff, who clean the hostel looked all ennoyed. Big contrast between reception staff and the other staff. Toilets are really small and not a lot of privacy. For me, the hostel was to big and to noisy.

Lovely hostel in a good location. Very clean. Don't think I would stay here again necessarily (this hostel is definitely a backpacker haven, and I'm not into that scene any more), but Samesun is a great place to stay for someone wanting to see Vancouver over the course of a few days.

Great location and helpful friendly staff. The accommodation was nice, but could do with an update in the locking of dorm doors, perhaps a swipe card system. Great hostel!

Excellent help at the front desk, the staff were friendly and helpful. Second time staying there and the only thing I can complain about is that the guy in the opposite bunk to me smelt bad! Good work Samesun Vancouver!!

The young people in charge were very nice to me. I was very satisfied with the service. I am 80 years old, and attending a 3-day Orthomolecular Medicine conference at the Fairmount hotel, an easy walk away. Paying hotel prices is difficult. The hostel has everything I need. Thank you very much. Ira Edwards from Medford, Oregon.

A great hostel right in the centre of downtown. Has a nice bar downstairs with very cheap food and drink deals every night. Rooms and facilities were all very clean and the staff are amazingly helpful, always ready to answer questions or suggest places to eat or things to do. Would definitely stay again.

Indeed, if you have a room on grandville street, it'll be noisy at night enough for waking me up time to time. On the other hand, the location very downtown which is very nice. Very good hostel, smart services like providing laudry soap and internet in the rooms. Clean, staff friendly. Coming back to this hostel next time in Vancouver
