Great location! Very helpful staff and the best hostel breakfast options I've ever had. I would probably ONLY stay in this hostel upon future Vancouver visits.

Honestly one of the best hostels I've stayed in. Amazing breakfast with bagels and muffins cooked on site. Awesome properly stocked bar again with food cooked out back. Very good location right in the centre of town easy walk to everywhere. Staff were great and very helpful. Would definitely recommend checking out a hockey game while in town, hostel makes it very easy selling tickets at reception. The only place to stay when in Vancouver!
This is a really good hostel. Located very centrally. Staff exceptionally friendly. Different activities arranged for the backpackers every night of the week e.g. ice-skating, trivia night etc. Free breakfast although not a lot of choice - i would have appreciated some cereal! Negatives were that it was really loud outside the room at night but it's located on the party street. The rooms were tiny. Funny smell in the hallway. Wifi is temperamental and only works properly in common area.
Love this hostel! Big kitchen and common area and with the bar downstairs it's impossible not to meet people and make friends. Group activities organised everyday. Staff really helpful. Rooms are very small but with the common area and bar you won't be spending too much time in your room anyway so this isn't an issue. Location is great! Right in the middle of the action and a big supermarket just 1 block away. As a female solo traveller I would definitely recommend this hostel!
Great place however i didnt realise where in vc it was and when it turned out to be on party central it wasnt great! Also a ball ache stripping the top bunkbed whilst people are asleep
Nice Hostel in the center of Vancouver. Daily trips to the top sightseeingplaces were offered for free. Price includes also a continental breakfast. The staff was always very friendly and helpful.
Geat hostel! Met a lot of new people and nice activities. Granville Island tour with steffani was great!

Samesun is in a great location. Exactly where you want to be when you're staying in Vancouver. Staff were so helpful. I ended up staying here far longer than I originally intended. The bagels and muffins in the free breakfast are amazing also!!
One of the better hostels i've stayed at. The outdoor room for smoking/ socialising and the movie room are really good additions. The rooms have creaky but comfy beds. Fan and light for each bed! i stayed in two separate rooms/ two different bookings The first lockers were bad, the second lockers were perfect. Easy to meet people here, and have fun. Breakfast isn't anything special, bread, bagels and mixed low quality cut up fruit. Wifi everywhere which does drop connections sometimes, but good.
The location is a bit of a double edged blade: it's in the middle of the entertainment district with quite a lot of good restaurants nearby, but rarely have I seen this many homeless people and drug addicts. I don't feel unsafe very quickly, but it can kind of bum you out -no pun intended. Also, for this price range, the showers and bathrooms definitely could use an upgrade. On the other hand, the personnel is really helpful (be sure to take a tour with Stephanie), and the bar is a big plus.
The location, staff and cleanliness are great! However, the dorm rooms are not spacious enough for a bunch of people. And it's more for young people and it's got a party atmosphere. So if you're looking for a hostel where you can just relax and chill like in my case, it's not the place for you. But overall, it's not bad for a few nights stay.
The atmosphere of this place was fantastic and I made a lot of good friends there in no time at all. The bar downstairs was great, reasonably priced and always active. Special mention must also go to the lovely Stephanie (like the nicest person ever!) who is the activities coordinator, as she did a great job getting people involved and was great fun on all of the trips!
Beds aren't numbered or assigned so came in at night to find someone had moved my stuff and taken my bed
Unfortunately my room was right on the main road which meant it was extremely loud, especially because my window wouldn't close properly. In general I found e atmosphere rather boring, other an at breakfast, everyone just sat around the lounge using the free wifi and not conversing at all. I did a few of the free daily activities which were really good thanks to the guide Steph. Overall just a pretty average hostel.
rude night time staff and needed to put coins into the computers to make them work.
WiFi is spotty. However, that shouldn't matter if you're on vacation. The staff was great -- Stephanie, Francie(sp?), T were all great and helpful.

This hostel is a great base for discovering Vancouver. Right in the middle of things. Great bar downstairs, and good kitchen facilities. The private rooms are well worth your money - can be warm in summer but the two fans and stand up air con worked well. Staff were always great to deal with and breakfast bagels were delish - you just might have to wait a while if you've missed the first basket for the next basket of bagels to be baked and brought out.... first in best dressed as always!
I felt that I was in a Germany's college teenagers ... too many :-)
Great hostel! Being slightly older than the average backpacker (30, gasp!) I do enjoy my quality sleep. And I certainly got that at this hostel, even though there is a pretty cool and busy bar downstairs, and I even stayed on level 1. The rooms can get quite warm, but it's no great drama. Really friendly and helpful staff, good atmostphere that encouraged people to chat too.
