We stayed at the Samesun for five night this week, its a great hostel! amazing atmosphere and everyone is super helpful. Its a great location and a good place to meet new people. The bar is really good fun at night, and free breakfast in the morning is definitely sufficient to cure the hangover. The Guy at the front desk was super helpful and called us a cab this morning when we had too much stuff to take to the Greyhound station! :) Id recommend staying here!

Pros: Good breakfast. Location was superb. Cons: No car space. Only 3 toilets/ showers for each floor (there were A LOT of rooms with possible 8 people each). The cleaning of washrooms was also performed at the most inconvenient times (i.e. periods before checkout) thus making everyone have to use the 3 washrooms on the other levels.

It is a great hostel with good vibes, but it is pricey but I guess most places in Vancouver are... Good breakfast and the hostel provide fun activities.

Really great hostel, the free breakfast was much appreciated and the staff were great. On the main tourist / party street, very central.

Although slightly dated, the building is not in disrepair; however, some of the rooms and bathrooms could do with a facelift. Staff maintain a high level of cleanliness, despite the presence of an unusual smell in the stairwell. Centrally located, all major sights and attractions are mostly within walking distance. Granville Avenue is not the nicest walk through Vancouver, however I never felt unsafe traipsing its footpaths. Reception staff were mostly kind, friendly and accommodating.
