The owner is nice and will help you with advice, but the facilities are not so good. Really hard beds and dirty showers. Wifi works fine. The rooftop is just a rooftop with a table, which is nice but without a bar you have to walk 5 levels down every time to get a cold drink. Location is good. Samsen has nice sidestreets and its 10min walking to khoa san road.
The door of our room was broken, so everybody could pptentiualy go in! No locker inside the room! The door was not fixed, athough the hotel guy said it will be fixed. Walls are very thin and we could here every word of our neighbours, even if they whgistle. The guy at the information gave us wrong information about a thai-boxing fight and we went to a stadium for nothing? This price is to high for the service and the room!
The location is pretty good, just a five minute walk to Koh San road. The staff was also friendly. There was one guy who helped us with everything we needed, taxis, train tickets, advice, you name it. There was only one bathroom per floor which got a little annoying at times, but usually at least one was open. It isn't the cheapest place you will stay in SE Asia, but for Bangkok it wasn't bad. I also liked the key card access. It was very convenient. I would stay here again!
Great hostel. Rooftop is nice, staff is awesome! Walking distance to khao San road but not too close that it's loud or anything. Hard beds but they're clean
This is the BEST hostel I have ever stayed at. The staff is SO KIND AND HELPFUL. The couple who own the hostel are so nice, and Aung is the MAN. He is so cool and really helpful. This is definitely my favorite hostel, and the rooms are nice and the bathrooms are fine. Location is perfect as it is less than a 10 minute walk to Khaosan Road and the major temples and palace. Air Con is great and so is the wifi. I love this hostel and the staff, and I HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOSTEL!
LOVE this place, the staff and the people that stayed their with me. Had a great time! Would definitely recommend staying here!
Though the bed was a little hard and old (weird fold in the mattress) our stay at skyline was very good. The place was spotless when it came to cleanliness, the staff were extremely friendly and very knowledgable about the area. There was no 'one' common room so it made it hard to meet people, but, a travelers birthday party was very well advertised and so party on the roof was great! The 5th floor isn't as noisy as some people claim- even with a party going on. Will stay again!
This hostel has awesome staff! The hostel itself seems to be a work-in-progress as it is new and they are making changes to the inside. The location was quite good... 10 min maximum walk to Khaosan Road. There are also a couple buses that go right to JJ Market just outside the hostel. There is also a reasonable travel agent associated with the hostel just around the corner. Overall, a very decent place to hang your hat for a stay in Bangkok. The rooftop area is also a good place to chill.
Amazing, would never go to born free hostel down the street if skyline had availability. Good staff and good rooms. Great atmosphere, rooftop is beautiful. Would stay again 100%
Nice hostel with good location, many backpackers, friendly staff and all of the necessary facilities and everything but the small things was missing like a free map of Bangkok, information on buses out of Bangkok and safety lockers (which might have existed but I missed them). Anyway, it was a nice hostel and the atmosphere was great!
Nice hostel in a great location with extremely friendly and helpful staff. Cosy rooms but very hard mattress, didn't bother me but might bother some. Bathroom facilities extremely basic (the sink is in the hall and the shower is over the toilet) but kept clean. Very quiet and not the most social atmosphere during my visit but maybe I was just unlucky. Overall a nice place but expected a bit more for the money.
Location excellent in the old city, not too noisy. Only con is that it's not near metro or the train. Getting anywhere is done by taxi/tuktuk and that can be problematic during rush hours. Friendly staff :)
Might have been more comfortable sleeping on the ground, the beds are very hard. Lots of noise outside our room all night. On the plus side, we were only there for a night, it wasn't overly costly, and it is walking distance to Khaosan Rd.
When we arrived one of our private rooms was given to someone else. We opted to just go into a shared room where we were charged more than what our private room was supposed to cost. Rooftop bar is actually just a roof with a table and chairs. When we went up the table was full of empty beer bottles that no one bothers to clean up. Also the shower head is located 12 inches from the fan switch with exposed electrical wires. Not very safe. Much better on internet then in person.

The place was great. Staff were very friendly and helpful at all hours of the day, the rooftop is an excellent place to meet other travelers, and I had no complaints about cleanliness or the bathrooms. It is far enough from kao san road to be quiet, had good access to river transport, and is within walking distance to kao san if that's what you're after. My only complaint: except for a wooden plank that I slept on in a Buddhist retreat center, this is the hardest bed I have ever encountered
The ONLY thing we didnt like, was having to go up the 5 floor steps.Still, we were happy with everything (helpful staff, nice terrace, A/C, good location). We'd stay there again
We really loved this hostel, rooms were big enough, everything was clean and the location is great. Close to Khao San Road but quiet so you can have a good night sleep. Nice roof terrace, altough you can put more chairs and tables there - I think that it would be a good improvement. Also, Nate really tried and helped us with everything. Would definitely go back.
Good value for money for a quick stop in Bangkok. Very good location and staff. Shower was a bit dodgy but at $15 a night what can you say! Room and bathroom clean.

The guys at the reception were really helpful. The room was clean and we could take a shower for free after checking out. In total very nice there!
Shower is with the toilet, although it wasn't that bad as the water disappeared quickly. We were greeted with free water and an amazing host. Not as social as other hostels but it has potential to be with the roof top bar. Air con was grand. About a 10 minute walk to khao san road, which makes it nice and quiet.
