The atmpsphere was awesome! I reallly had fun here.

I had a great experience! The staff was very friendly and fun. There were people to chill with and people to party with. They let me borrow a surfboard for free and were happy to direct to anything I needed.

Pro: Nice and friendly staff, right by the beach. Contra: Scatchy people live in that area (homeless and hippies). Not good for partying. I also didnt meet so many cool people at the hostel.

kitchen could have more equipment. everything else was great! we got presents ( soda and chips9 when we checked in.. nice :)

I had a lovely time at the hostel. The food was amazing (especially the breakfast), the stuff very friendly and the rooms were very clean.

THE place to stay in San Diego, a very great atmosphere, I felt like at home after a few hours! I traveled alone and I met so much people, and all the staff was great! I will be back for sure! ( BUT, be very careful, don't bet anything with Matt if he wants play cards with you, he ALWAYS win !! ) I loved my stay there, in part thanks to this hostel! :)

Atmosphere likly would be most appreciated by universtity age crowd. Disappointed that only place to sit down was at tables in kitchen and front porch. Did have great location in interesting neighborhood and near beach.

This is a great hostel to stay at. I've been there 3 times now. There are a couple donwsides though. First, you can't drink in the hostel after 9:00 pm, which kinda sucks for a party hostel. Second, the free internet is so slow there is no point using it. You are better off going to Starbucks across the street. But those are two pretty small things that are totally outweighed by the good things. The staff are great. It's a party hostel, but because of the early quiet time, you can sleep.

We were supposed to stay at the hostel for just one week, but at the end we stayed there for 25 days. Excellent customers and staff, you can enjoy California even staying inside the hostel by night. A lot of initiatives, games, music and happiness! We really loved it, and sometimes we go back to say hi and have fun with the guys even if we found an apartment here in San Diego.

Great family feeling with this hostel. I was only meant to stay for 1 night, ended up staying for 4. The staff make it fun and homely and there is always an interesting mix of people staying there. OB is a chilled place and the hostel right near the beach and on the main street so you can catch all the action. The building is old but the hostel is clean enough. I recommend OB and this hostel for anyone wanting a chilled, guitar playing, singing, beer pong fueled fun times.

A block and a half from the beach and they maintained a clean dorm. They make you exit your room from 12noon to 3p so they can clean. No room access at all. Can't check in till 3p. And on how much they stressed a clean hostel rule, I was shocked to notice that not 1 bathroom had hand soap in it. And the girl working the desk with the lip piercing was completely RUDE! She seemed like she always being bothered by her job. Nasty attitude that ruined my experience there. Carly was friendly.

Funky fun place, great social vibe and right at the beach! Also loved the rooms: big, spacious, with lockers, baskets for stuff and bed-curtains for privacy. Booked 3 nights, stayed a week and wished we could stay longer :) Only thing I missed was a comfy couch area to hang out, but plenty of plastic benches in front and back outside of the hostel

I was very pleased with the cleanliness security and location of the hostel. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend it to others.

I would stay at this hostel again in a heartbeat! Absolutely loved the staff. I felt right at home and very safe.

Great atmosphere, very close to the airoport.

Perfect stay! I've been travelling for many weeks and I've been to many many hostels...but this was simply the best. Awesome staff, right by the beach, great location, everything you need close by. If downtown area However, if downtown area is what you're looking for, this is NOT the place to stay. If the beach is what you want: perfect. Only downer: no alcohol on front porch, no alcohol after 9 and no social gathering at the hostel after 11. Apart from that: just perfect!
