Very nice hostel. Friendly people, a majority of helpfull, warm and welcomming staff that makes you feel very welcome. Very good breakfast and a nice big kitchen area for cooking and eating. The rooms are clean and very well facilitated. I especially appreciated the ability to create my own little space in a shared room with the curtains around each bunk. There might be a little to many tv there, but would still definately return.

I loved the way the rooms are set out as they provided a lot of privacy. The location of the hotel, Ocean Beach, was also beautiful with plenty of things to do and places to eat and bars to go out in! I also thought that the staff were very friendly and helpful.

A VERY fun place to stay while in san diego. awesome location with a great team. breakfast is cooked for you and dinner is free twice a week. the price is the lowest of the area hostels and that makes OBI my favorite place to stay while traveling. Thank you to Doc and whole team for their hard work and hospitality.

A good location for a surf trip if you want to surf in OB. The place attracted a lot of weed users. Some staff were nice, others were flat out rude.

Old, rustic, charming, and very, very nice and accomodating. This is the best hostel I have ever stayed at. The staff is excellent and the location is awesome. I would like to personally thank the owners and staff for the priviledge of staying there and I "HIGHLY RECOMMEND" this hostel for anybody including travelers, backpackers, and families alike. Keep up the great work guys and gals of OBI, aka Ocean Beach International Hostel. Sincerely, Michael VanDeMark & Naoko Nakagawa

It is always delightful staying at Ocean Beach International Hostel. The Staff and even other visitors contribute to a very comfortable and memorable visit. The breakfasts are delicious; I keep missing the dinners (darn); and the free shuttle from the airport was a special treat. It’s fantastic being so close to the ocean and to public transportation to other places in San Diego.

I stayed in OBI Hostel for one night only but had an awesome experience. Got free BBQ at night, decent self-made breakfast in the morning, and met the nicest people whom I went surfing with the next day (boards are only 10 bucks for half a day). The hostel is clean, food is good, location is amazing.

Food and location were great. Having to put your luggage on the top bunk everyday was not easy. I had to fold my pillow into threes to get any kind of support. The lights in the room are quite dim and impossible to read by in your bunk. The lockers were incredibly small. The biggest issue I had was there was absolutely no place to sit comfortably (just picnic style tables with benches) to chat, read or watch TV in the entire hostel. Being supplied with clean towels every day was a bonus.
