San Juan Hostel is located just a short walk from the bus stop and was a great place to stay for our short time in San Juan. The staff were great and made us feel really welcome, they also assisted us planning our trip to Valle de la Luna. They have a fantastic roof top deck & cooked up some great food Overall cleanliness of the place needs some improvement - the dorms & bathrooms could be nicer but it seemed as though they were working on it. If the cleanliness was improved it would be great

Spent just 1 night and should be enough for staying here. Positive is the location: walking distance from bus terminal

Nice and friendly atmosphere, good place to chill out. The outside terrace is cool, they organised asado there, good to meet other travellers. The staff were super friendly and helpful, they organised our trip to the Moon Valley, a really beautiful place.

The hostel staff were very friendly and helpful, but the hostel had some real issues. The front door was not locked or even shut in the evenings, meaning anyone could just wander in. I'm sure SJ is a safe town but I didn't like the lack of security. Our room had no windows and no air-con, meaning it was dark and far too hot in the morning. The bathrooms were dirty; the floors needed a very good clean and their general upkeep was poor. Breakfast of bread and dry crackers was very basic.

Only if you didn't find anything else... The double was very small, without window, without air conditionning (just a ventilator). With the temperature, we were suffocating. The kitchen and the two bathrooms were very dirty, the jacuzzi was used as a trash and the ping pong table was broken... The staff was very friendly, and english speaking.

The mattresses are old and not very comfortable and the water pressure is definantly lacking in the bathrooms but the owners are great they are very helpful and knowledgable. They organized a big BBQ for everyone and really have created a great atmosphere. I would recommend it just for that. January 2013

Decent hostel , but the jacuzzi needs fresh water, the fridge is way too old and the fan in the room could not even get plugged in.

Difficult to rate, maybe we picked the wrong time to be there. But the atmosphere wasn't really there and ppl didnt care to much. Cleanliness could definitely be better, so could be the breakfast! However, if you're looking for a place to sleep in short walking distance to the city centre, San Juan Hostel does it just as well.
