This hostel needs a "make up" everything looks old, and falling apart. The Door lock did not worked, it kept on getting stuck. Mirror on bathroom was missing, etc... The good thing about this hostel is that is located just one block from the beach.

You get what you pay for: a cheap place to spend the night without any frills (which is exactly what I was looking for!).

Trust the bad reviews! I confirmed my reservation in the morning, but when I arrived at the hostel that night, they said they were overbooked. They offered me a filthy mixed dorm room with 5 people for the 4 beds. The photos of the courtyard are not accurate, there is no plush lounge furniture, just metal tables and chairs covered in cigarette ash and sticky beer from the night before. The included "breakfast" is two pieces of toasted wonder bread.

If someone books a room at your hostel and pays a deposit, then don't give away their room to someone else. Especially not without telling them until they get there. That is incredibly rude and it's the worst service I have ever seen. We came in the middle of the night and had nowhere else to go. We had to sleep in the car because of you. You ruined a whole day for us on our vacation that we had to spend on finding somewhere else to stay.

We stayed during spring break so paid well above average price. We arrived and told that card machine is broken and needed to pay our balance of in cash which we didn't have as we were told to pay on credit card. They said we could use atm in reception with $3 transaction fee and it could only withdraw a small amount at a time, I don't believe the card machine was broken as it was still broken 6 days later when we left so watch out for this. Room was dirty but expected and were hardly there.

The hostel itself it is nothing special, kind of good value for money if you do not book in high season. The problem is staff at this place, they are not just unpolite and not helpfull at all, they are actually mean. It have not happened to me but had seen so many people that had stayed without previously reservated bed just becouse of staff booking "skills". I would recommend to book another hostel for just few dollars more an have totally diffrent experience.

Usually I don't use to rate hostels but this was a JOKE. I've been travelling around the world the last six months and I stayed one night at Santa Barbara hostel. Never. Again. Ever. Ever. It was dirty as HELL. The staff wasn't helpfull at all and I got the hostel room 40 min after check in because they didnt found any available bed for me. The toilet hasn't been cleaned for ever and the shower was filthy! Don't stay here, is defintitely not worth it !!!!

The location is good. Free internet and basic breakfast. It's a party hostel so very noisy at night.

Staff very rude and unhelpful. The rooms are extremly full: no space for bags!! Not enough lockers, Bathroom wa disgustinss. The only good thing is that you dont a lot of money.

The comments are true. Some of the staff members are very rude. There aren't enough lockers for everyone. We didn't have toilet paper for one day!!! And bathroom was very little and always dirty. I guess the only (only!!) good thing is that is the cheapest you can find. If you are staying more than 2 night, I really don't recommend it.

The reservation system did not work. I reserved a room for 4 people, but when we arrived, but the manager had only 3 beds available for us. So the we had to share beds the whole weekend. Another friend of us was kicked out from his bed the same night he arrived, and he had to change bed twice during his stay. The personnel seemed distracted and it seemed like there was no system of how things were done at the hostel. Getting what you have reserved is a minimum, at least when you pay a deposit!

We were a group of 5 girls and we were supposed to be in the same room for the night, but obviously the hostel was overcrowded and they split us into 3 rooms. Two of my friends had to sleep in the same bed because there were not enought beds free, and they also give me a bed already occupied so i've been woken up in the middle of the night by someone wanting her bed back. Non sense ! Beside the bathroom and the rooms were very dirty, and i dont even mention the kitchen...

1) I payed for 5 nights. I payed in my arrival. In the second night the owner asked me for the money. What? 2) The kitchen? Please. It's not a kitchen. You should be ashamed. 3) The girl at the breakfest is rude.

Great hostel, even for the price, everything is worthy. The staff tries their best to help in whatever you need! Could be better in security and cleanliness but its not a big problem! Totally recommend it.

Let me start off with saying that I am not high maintenance at all, but this hostel is below any standards where I would stay. The lobby, reception area, and courtyard was dirty at all times. The bathroom in the dorm rooms was absolutely filthy. The website says each dorm room has it's own bathroom but that is not true so you essentially have to share a bathroom with about 20 people. The staff was rude especially the security guard. I wouldn't recommend this hostel to my worst enemy.

It´s not very clean, the rooms are tiny, the breakfast is a bad joke and the kitchen is not usable. And it´s noisy.
