Chris, Sherrie and Valentina are awsome. I'm going to add a photo to my profile and you all will see something that you don't see at other Hostels.

When I first read the reviews to the hostel, I was a little nervous about going there. After checking in, I was surprised how WRONG the reviews were. Santa Barbara has a nice place to relax outside. The hostel is full of people and fun. I liked the staff, the lobby with the big screen TV and the free computers. The hostel was clean until some nasty travelers checked in. Don't be fooled by travelers who can't keep a clean room and are mad at the staff for making them pay bill. Nice place

Great location close to the action on south beach, very cheap, however the bathrooms were pretty filthy.

Due to the price it was expected how it would be. But it was very dirty, if you didn't treat the staff with silk gloves they were often unfriendly and not helpful at all. The breakfast consists of a cup of tea or coffee and two toast with either grape jam or grape jam... The breakfast woman was the unfriendliest one I've ever met. Information are ont always correct, soI missed my bus to the airport. But you can meet wonderful people in there, from all nations. The nights were fun.

very good internet connexion but not enough space at desk and wheni made reservation i thought to have reservated a single room and was surprised then to be in a 8 bed room, well thi swas a but, the only thing that made me feel bad is the breakfast : continental breakfast means two slices of toast butter and marmelade and a cup of coffe, that's not breakfast for me if not a bad joke but well the stuff is very professional, not like miami hostel where they didn't even give receive for the w

The room was not cleaned during my 3 night stay. I asked but staff said that they would get to it. Also, people stayed at this hostel as a home residences. They lived there.

I stayed there about 1 week, and quiet recommended. I stayed 8 mixed dorm, of course it was a little bit small for 8 people but atmosphere was really great. You can be anyone's friend ! if you are ready. but breakfast was very small amount..that was only fault that i felt.

Staff was rude, and everything but service minded. also, the music played on the stereo 24/7 is driving all of us mad. I liked the location and the possibility to sit outside and talk to other guest is great, if the music could be turned down every once in a while.

Rooms are tiny and crammed, smelly and mixed dorms feel rather dodgy... it's a party place so if you are jetlagged and wanting to sleep, don't go there, you won't get any sleep. Generally I fond people staying there very rude, walking in the rooms in the middle of the night, switching the lights on, talking like it's daytime etc...no respect of tired fellow backpackers... It is dirty and badly looked after, mainly because people staying there behave like pigs.

Very friendly stuff, but not clean rooms. This hostel is for young people, who likes to make party, because for 1am is it not quite there...

Very loud thumping trance and pop music from 8 am to 2am making it very difficult to sleep . Very small kitchen which one is not allowed to use until after 10am .Breakfast served between 8 and 10 on styrofoam everything (Keep these because there is no crockery or cutlery) consists of 2 slices of white toast and one coffee . Otherwise my 4 bed dorm was good just couldn't sleep .! The place could benefit from a less stingy owner I think i.e. more staff and much better kitchen.

The two ladies working the front desk are great, Sherrie and Valentina.

This is a great place for people who don't need sleep. Top 20 hits in the nation blast in a continuous loop from 8:30am til at least 2am. Sunday I was there it was still going at 5am. Rooms are organized around a central courtyard so there is no escaping noise from stereo, revelers. After a while it wears you down; vacation is not relaxing when one is constantly sleep deprived. I will say that cleaning staff--Francisco and Alita--were incredibly nice and accommodating, front desk folks too

Great atmosphere in the hostel...music is always playing, people from all over the world are just chilling outside, drinking and talking. Very close to the beach (less than 2mins) and shops such as Walgreens and CVS (and liquor stores!) The kitchen was not clean at all, and the rooms were not exactly spotless, however it is definitely livable and is value for money.

I had a lovely time meeting new people from all over the world. If you are looking for a social time and people to party with, especially if you are traveling alone as I was, I highly recommend this hostel. If you are looking for a spick and span room with a lot of privacy, I would not recommend this hostel as you definitely get to know your hostel mates through staying in a more compact hostel. THANK YOU SANTA BARBARA HOSTEL! -Nakisa C.
