Good location by metro and French embassy. Had towels and shower gel, if you have to share a room, there are no lockers. TV in room is nice. Cleanish, but slightly shabby looking. I would stay here again though just because of location by embassy. If you're in Madrid, it's really just a place to sleep anyway.
What a great stay! Wish I could have stayed longer! Thank you so much!

Not really a hostel, more like a hotel, but fantastic if you've been in the city and want to come back for a siesta. There just isn't a common area, or a lot of tourist information.
Santa Barbara is great. It is across the street from the Metro stop and a variety of restaurants with very good food and moderate prices. There is a small grocery (VIPS) just down the hill and everything we wanted to see, especially museums, are within a 15-30 minute walk. We stayed 3 nights and the staff is friendly and helpful to the point of locating a pencil sharpener for me. I used the elevator when carrying luggage. The A/C is quiet and works well. A quiet and comfortable place.
lots of good places to eat and drink nearby. Right by a very handy metro station. Comfy, good showers, definitely go back.
I really liked the friendly faces that met me every time I entered the door, and Alicia ( I think that was her name) did a really good job cleaningEven though I was a lone girl I felt very secure. Muchissimas gracias!
This hostel is very well located right next to Metro Alonso Martinez which is on some of the most used lines. It doesn't have a big sign but is right next to an email cafe on the corner of Plaza Alonso Martinez, only a few steps from the metro entrance and a short ride in to the center - you could walk it too. There are lots of places to eat from cheap to posh all around, with bars and entertainment. The staff were friendly and the room was good for the price with a bathroom.
