On the web site Air conditioning was promised, in truth there was nothing in the room, very stuffy to live in. Too little space in the room, unlike the photo showed. Incompetent staff (required the printed copy of reservation that in true is not needed)

The staff was very attentive. The room was comfortable and has its own bathroom (hot water included). There is no food but the location is perfect and there are cafes, restaurants and bars just around the corner. If you are a light sleeper ask for a room that does not look to the street (although the balcony was nice) since at around 2 am they clean the streets with water and the noise can wake you up. The value for the price was amazing! We stayed in a private room. Few steps from metro...

We spent three nights in the hostel and was entirely pleased with it. The staff was very helpful and kind, and although they did not speak English, and we don't speak Spanish, we managed to understand each other. It was very convenient that that could connect to the free WIFI without any problem. The room was clean, and we had new towels every day. They don't serve breakfast, but we found a nice and cheap breakfast place, Viena Capellanes just around the corner.

Their water pipe was broken when I got there. So the staff want me to stay another place which is two blocks far away, and that place is horrible!! I am disappointed for the hostel didn't tell me I need to change place before I arrive They should tell me in order to let me choose to stay or to get refund

The only negative thing I can say about Santa Barbara is that the staff speak nothing but Spanish. That said, however, they are very helpful and we really enjoyed trying to communicate with them (with more than moderate success!) Great location, close to even if not in the very center of the city - it is practically on top of the Metro, in the "food district" (lots of restaurants around) and close to the sightseeing bus lines.

The staff do not speak any English and are therefore not of much use. There is no breakfast included, even though HostelWorld mentions that there is. Our room had no hot water the following morning before check-out, so I had to make do with just washing my hair in cold water. I wouldn't recommend this hostel.

Great location, few minutes walking to Gran Via and Puerta del Sol, metro station just opposite the front door. Very clean and nice place especially for this price. Only one minus- staff can't say a word in english.
