The place is wonderful for someone trying to get away: the hostel sits on a nice village, with restaurants, pubs and a beach. Public transportation in Malta and Gozo, though, can be challenging, since it takes a lot of time to get around with it and the buses are not very frequent. Maria is a great host and does everything for your stay to be wonderful. The rooms are spatious and nice and clean. Gets a bit cold at night.

Excellent choice for those who are looking for cozy, clean, comfortable and quiet accommodation with local atmosphere. Maria is a wonderful lady, always there to help and knows everything you might like to ask about Gozo and Malta. Staying there was a pure pleasure. Highly recommended.

I must confess that I mistakenly booked a room at Santa Martha when it was officially closed. Yet, Maria, who runs the hostel, exceptionally opened it for me! (I hope fellow travelers will not disturb her from November to March.) The hostel was only 2-minute walk from the seashore in Marsalforn. The room was simple, cozy, quiet and safe. The shared bathroom was clean and hot water was available anytime. The breakfast (bread, cereal, milk, tea, coffee, orange juice, yogurt) was also nice.
