Stayed here for my last couple nights in Rio, and it was my second stay in Santa Teresa. A much better option than Santa Teresa View. Great staff here and a good atmosphere overall. Decent location to the Gloria Station

This is honestly the best hostel I've ever stayed at. I was a bit skeptical after reading all of the raving reviews, but from the moment we walked through the door of this small, 15-bed hostel, we felt welcomed into a family. Within minutes we knew all of the staff and all of the other backpackers, went out together almost every night, and got great advice on not only what to do in the city, but what it's really like to be from Rio. :) Definitely staying here every time I end up in Rio.

Great Hostel with an excellent atmosphere. Location is also great. They oraganize things such as bar crawls, BBQ, etc. Best of all: they guys took me on a tour through Rio in their private car! Thanks again, that was great. Hostel is totally recommended.

one of the best hostals I have been.. If you get to know Gorge is a great person he teach me to play on a guitar and made me fill that he did it with pleasure and not just because i wanted, every night we had something to do in town, thay have a board on the wall and they wright on it in the day whats going to be the plan for the night and everybody is invited.. We had BBQ in the rooftop and thay have a really nice cat! Usually i prefer dogs.. But this cat is so cute. And thay put good music!

Santa Mix was a home away from home. Comfy, spacious and clean but most importantly warm, welcoming staff and owners who were super helpful and fun:) The rooftop view and BBQ's they host are second to none and as a bonus you get to hang out with locals when the staff invite their mates around. Best hostel vibe on my 3 months journey in South America yet! Mostly chilled with a good dose of partying every now and again:)

A fantastic hostel. The staff are very friendly. It feels like a family, with plenty of fun but not an aggressive party atmosphere. It's a hike up the hill, but the Gloria metro stop is very convenient and the neighborhood is nice.

TOP Hostel. Great atmosphere, like a little family. The first night you get Caipis for free at the awesome rooftop with a great view. The staff is awesome and we felt very welcome. If you want you can go out with the people and the staff from the hostel, they organize something for every night. Next time in Rio we will come back!!! plus they do have the best cat in the world!!

The hostel is clean and tidy and the staff is excellent. However, I had an issue: I was travelling with my family and we rented the entire room for 6 person and we were expecting privacy. While everyboby were sleeping someone entered in the room to use the toilet and my family got unconfortable with the place. The staff could not find the key from the dorm and on the next day, the dayshift staff did not know about what happened last night, very poor handover. Howerver I recommend the place!

the staff really get this hostel going and it feels like a bit of a family of your fellow travels after a few short hours. A smallish hostel, but the whole hostel went out and explored Lapa which was awesome. Some good Caprinha's as well:)Always felt safe and a great location to explore Lapa and Santa Teresa

Really nice place to stay in a typical Rio's neighborhood. Far from the glamour and fever of the more trendy and touristic beaches like Leblon, Ipanema and Copacabana, but near Lapa where you can find the wildest nightlife. A quite convenient location, near Gloria metro station and also not far from the historical center of the city. The staff was very kind and always willing to help. They create a very friendly atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this place for your stay in Rio.

Rio was my first stop on my journey and since I only had three days in that glorious city, I made the perfect choice by staying at Santa Mix Hostel. Clean environment, super comfortable beds, solid breakfast and family like staff. Once you get up to the sundeck for Caipirinhas and BBQ while overlooking half of the city all the way to the sea, you know that you have done everything right. The real Rio experience with Lapa and the Metro to the beaches around the corner. Simply Awesome! Thank you
