We thought the place was a bit dodgy when we turned up, but for the price it was quite good, reasonably clean and the staff were very helpful, both with regard to the motel itself (we were a little late arriving and there was an issue finding the booking, not due to the motel) and helping us organise tours/activities in LA. Despite being on a major road it was quiet.
