This place was awarded Best guesthouse in Nepal in 2013 and it definitely earns that distinction! It's all about Sarita, the woman devoted to making the place run smoothly and ensuring that each guest has all the information he needs for a pleasant stay in Kathmandu. The community meals make great social gatherings and Sarita is a wonderful cook. The beds are firm but comfortable, the showers are solar powered, and the place is simple but tidy. I am planning on going back on my way out of Nepal

Had a very nice stay in this cozy guest house. Sarita, the woman who runs the house, is a very lovely person which does everything she can for you to feel welcome in Nepal. She also cooks good vegetarian dishes from their own rice and vegetable field. The location is though not directly IN Kathmandu, its Patan, which is also very nice. Especially the Durbar Square. If youre not taking the bus or a cab it takes about 45 min to walk to Thamel. It was also a bit noisy at night...

Just amazing! Staying here made feeling at home possible while in crazy Kathmandu. Location is perfect, close enough to the attractions of Kathmandu yet away from the "touristy" area. Rooms are basic but very clean and all you need. Come here for the amazing hospitality and Nepali experience. Sarita is amazing, making the most amazing food (and tea!) in Nepal while going to every effort to make sure you have a good time in Nepal by recommending sights and helping to get on the buses! Perfect!!!

Room was simple, adequate and clean. My room had a little balcony looking to the back, and traffic sounds weren't loud :) But best of all is Sarita's amazing hospitality! She goes all out to help you and is such a generous, kind person that Sanu's house is easily the best place to stay in Kathmandu. Patan is an interesting place and it was good to be away from the hassle and touts of Thamel. Good hot showers, lovely breakfast, internet. I loved Kathmandu and staying here was a big part of it.

This place was wonderful. The food is perfect and it was wonderful to sit down with others and eat together. The rooms are great. We were given free choice of which room we wanted. The owner's smile is warm and welcoming and let's you know you're in the right place. She even walked to the road with us and waited until we got on the bus just to make sure we got on the right one. PERFECT! Thank you.

This hostel is FANTASTIC! GREAT owner who is soo motherly and nice and makes great food!! She will also take you out on some excursions from time to time :). It's very very clean! It's the place to go if you don't need to be right in Kathmandu. For example it's quite far from the Indian embassy. It's far from te touristy areas but not too far to still visit them. If you're looking for a really nice place to stay for a while this is it. SO great!
