Although we only discovered the air cooling system for the last night, great time at Sanya Backpacker with a careful and helpful welcome.

Wonderful place, and great character. Chris and Linda (and Mimi) were wonderful hosts and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone, even the Queen. Thank you!

Chris and Linda are very friendly and helpful, and made us feel very welcome. It's a relatively social place, so it's easy to make quick friends if you stay more than a day. The bar offers many delicious drinks at reasonable (for Sanya) prices, although on the downside it does not keep consistent hours. There are some great activities available through the hostel, but be aware that you need a critical mass of six to embark. If I return to Sanya, I will stay here for part of my trip again.

Wow, what to say about Sanya Backpackers? My friends and I immediately felt at home the moment we stepped inside (Chris even gave our confused taxi driver directions). Chris and Linda couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful and never became impatient with our group's inability to coordinate or make decisions. The entire place was spotless and well-maintained. The bar and food facilities were impeccable (except the day we wanted to start drinking before 6). Thank you! We'll be back!

This is one of the best hostels I've stayed at in all my travels. Chris and Linda were great hosts and made everyone feel so welcome. They also had all the information we needed for day trips and interesting places to go. The hostel's Wipeout Bar was a great place to meet other travellers.

Very professional atmosphere, almost too much so. I almost felt like I was staying in a hotel and not a hostel. The beer in the bar is much too expensive (15 yuan for a small bottle!), so that we did not spend much time there. But overall a very good place to stay, and the location is great.

The owner Chris is a great guy, really friendly and makes an effort with all the guests and will help you out if you need anything. Good location very close to the beach and restaurants. Fun buffet held every Sunday night with beer challenges. Highly recommend, my friends and I all had a great stay. Wifi access in all bedrooms and dorms.

I cant fault this hostel. When we arrived we were greeted warmly and shown around the hostel. the facilities were excellent as well as the location. The staff are so friendly, they make you feel like you are a welcomed guest at their home, making you feel like you are at home, rather than just someone to sleep. I would definitely recommend this hostel, especially if you like swimming, surfing, diving, eating good food, and being in great company. Plus the dog is so cute!

Chris, Linda, and Mimi were very kind-hearted hosts. They took the time to give me directions to places I wanted to go, helped introduce me to other travelers, and just generally helped me feel at home. The hostel itself is very clean, and they run it professionally. I had a wonderful stay, and I thank them very much for my time in Sanya!

The stay at this hostel was very very nice! The hostel owners, Chris & Linda, were extremely helpful and kind. The location is perfect, just a 5 minute walk distance to the Dadonghai beach, a very nice beach with losts of restaurants. Hostel is clean, have a nice outdoor terrace and breakfast options are also fine. In general, a very good place to stay in Sanya. I definitely recommend this hostel and I would stay there again if Icome back! Thank you very much Chris & Linda!

Perfect location - close to the city center and right next to the beach. Rooms and service was alright too. But the best thing about this hostel is caring, helpful, friendly, experienced and just amazing stuff:) It was a wonderful stay, I felt like at home.

180RMB for an upper bunk bed in a 6 person dorm is too expensive, even during the busy Spring Festival period. Service, cleanliness, and security were all quite good.
